Shutdown by battery.remaining or battery.runtime?
On a test shutdown of an APC Back-UPS RS1500 upsc was run periodically to follow the UPS discharge, it showed these values: battery.low 120 battery.charge.low 10 As it turned out, the battery.charge.low was encountered first and the system shut down there. However, considering the rate at which the charge was falling at the end I would much rather have had it shutdown sooner than it did. Is

Some questions
Hello all NUT users and developers! Have some questions about nut suite: 1. Does upscmd provide only device-specific commands? Or commands like shutdown.stayoff are general and good for all ups models? When i see output of 'upscmd -l' - is this general commands that supported by given device or this is unique commands of this device? For example, i have APC SmartUPS-750 and it shows me

Multiple UPS monitoring, relaying
Hello, I've got a setup with NUT, where we've got two UPSes, ups1 and ups2. UPS1 supports our servers, while UPS2 supports our desktop boxes. We monitor both of them via USB on a box now called "upsmon". The interesting point comes here. We monitor both UPSes on the upsmon box, but if UPS2 fails, which supports our desktop boxes, NUT shouldn't initiate a shutdown in

Problems starting upsd
Hello list, I'm fresh in using an ups for shutting down a linux server and i was thinking someone could give a hand at debugging a problem i stumbled to. I'm used to the redhat type of distribution, mainly centos 4/5, and off-course i installed nut and nut-client from the available rpm packages. After some reading i disconnected the server from the power supplied by the ups and

"no longer stale" when disconnected with 2.0.5 newhidups
Hello, I'm using driver newhidups with APC Back-UPS CS 500. Most things works fine except the following: After I disconnect the UPS the upsd write "Data for UPS [apc] is stale - check driver" in /var/log/messages. In the same second it tells "UPS [apc] data is no longer stale". This repeats all the time the ups is disconnected: Jan 25 14:45:03 degpn026w226 kernel: usb

Multiple Tripplite OMNI900LCD
We have multiple TrippLite Omni900LCD UPS. There are a couple pieces of equipment connected to each UPS. I would like to connect the UPSs to one computer through USB which would shutdown the appropriate equipment based on events monitored by upsmon using upssched. I've configured NUT using usbhid-ups driver and compiled/installed NUT. I've done some testing and it seems to work.

Unitek iZi UPS 525
Hi everybody, I've got an Unitek iZi UPS 525 with a serial interface. The supplied cable looks fairly simple: RX->RX , TX->TX and GND->GND. Using this cable and Minicom with 2400 8N1 I'm able to issue commands to the UPS using the "Megatec Protocol" http://www.networkupstools.org/protocols/megatec.html so I know the UPS is fairly "intelligent" :-) and the

Or is this a main supply glitch? Nothing else in the house
