If i write "lsusb" appears:

FreeBSD 6.1, MGE Ellipse ASR600USBS, newhidups & upsd
Hello,
I'm facing problems as I'm installing NUT to monitor a MGE Ellipse
ASR600USBS on a FreeBSD 6.1 box.
UPS is recognized as :
ugen0: MGE UPS SYSTEMS ELLIPSE, rev 1.10/42.41, addr 2
I'm temporarily using root profile (devfs/devd scripts not modified atm).
newhidups starts & runs fine (unplugging mains makes newhidups outputs
lots of data when started with -DDDD flags)

Best driver for MGE Pulsar Evolution 1100
I have an MGE Pulsar Evolution 1100 connected to a Debian box, with
nut-2.0.1 (the standard "sarge" packages). I have it connected through
USB, and I'm using newhidups.
However, about once a day the driver looses contact with the UPS and I
have to restart NUT to get it to drop the "data stale" nonsense (it
happens more often than this, but most times it recovers without

MGE Ellipse Premium 1200 USB cable only works if plugged after boot
I have an MGE Ellipse Premium 1200 that I connected to my server using
its USB cable. Nut seems to be working fine. I've done a power down
test and it worked and came back up when the UPS had power again. I'm
using the newhidups driver and the USB cable.
The problem I'm having is that if I boot with the cable connected
newhidups says it can't find the UPS. If I unplug and plug in

MGE evolution s1250 all values = '2'
Hi,
I think my problem will be easy to resolve ... I don't understand why
the ups return the value 2.000000 for all variables ... I've been
looking for 1 hour on google and I can't find similar problem.
Thank you

Differences between newhidups (MGE tables) in 2.0.4 and svn trunk
I was looking at how other drivers deal with outlet collections, and I
noticed some differences between newhidups in 2.0.4 (from Debian's
2.0.4-2.3) and the SVN trunk (rev 723) on an Evolution. Full diff is
below, but here are the highlights:
* MGE HID 0.9 vs 1.0
* outlet.#.switch seems to have moved to the commands outlet.#.load.{on,off}
Then I found this in the ChangeLog:

Using MGE UPS's with NUT and openSUSE
Dear List, I thought it might be useful if I wrote up my notes on getting
an MGE UPS to work with NUT and openSUSE.
The MGE UPS (an Ellipse 1500 USB) will work well with NUT and openSUSE
10.2, but not "out-of-the-box": there are some things you need to do:
Intro. MGE have built rpms of NUT which greatly simplify installation.
Merci MGE. I used the rpm's for nut-2.0.5 and the

Issue with Eaton network-M2
Hello Guys,
After several days searching on the net and checking my set-up, I can't
resolve an issue with Eaton network-M2 and "github nut".
I have two ups on the LAN :
- Eaton S3 Evolution with "old network card" => no problem.
- Eaton 5PX3000 with new "network-M2" card => I can't load driver.
sudo /usr/local/ups/sbin/upsdrvctl start

telling apart USB devices
I just noticed the following curious behavior when using newhidups
with upsdrvctl and two different USB devices:
My ups.conf contains two devices, both using newhidups:

desc = "Belkin UPS, USB interface"
vendorid=050d

problem with an MGE Ellipse 650 (Debian Sarge)
I've recently bought an MGE 650 that has both cables : USB and Serial.
Since it's used on a server, I'd prefer not to load usb drivers just for
nut. The problem is, either with newhidups or with mge-shut, the driver
instantanly report that the communication with my MGE is lost, and
shotly after that my ups is unavailable.
It never show up again, and nut constantly says that the

mge pc 675 does not work with usb-hidups
On opensuse 10.3, i installed nut and configured my ups.conf like i did it on
opensuse 10.2 by putting (10.3 , nut 2.2.0):
[MGEpc675]
driver = usbhid-ups
port = auto
desc = "MGEpc675"
instead of (10.2 , nut 2.0.4) :
[MGEpc675]
driver = newhidups
port = auto
desc = "MGEpc675"
But it doesn't work.
It appears that upsdrvctl

nutups with MGE Evolution via USB
I'm getting dmesg flooded with messages like this one:
usbdevfs: usb_submit_urb returned -28
What's wrong? I'm using Linux kernel 2.4.32 and nut-2.0.3.
The /etc/ups.conf contains
[mgeups]
driver = newhidups
port = auto
desc = "MGE UPS"
Cheers,

Fun and games with newhidups, udev rules and permissions
Thought I would write some notes about how I got an APC BackUPS XS
1500 working with newhidups under Gentoo 2006.0. The specific issue
here is the permissions on the device files used that libusb uses to
access the USB hardware.
I followed Peter Selinger's instructions at
http://www.mscs.dal.ca/~selinger/ups/backups.html
on getting newhidups going with an APC device. The sticking point for
