[LLVMdev] Feedback required on proper dllexport/import implementation
Hi Nico, Reid, and Anton,
I missed the discussion when I implemented dllexport/dllimport for our local tree. I
essentially implemented your approach#1. I was trying to avoid the various
external_linkage + some_attribute approaches because it seems that external_linkage
would imply the external linkage without the dllimport/dllexport semantics, and there
may be existing compiler codes that rely on

[LLVMdev] Feedback required on proper dllexport/import implementation
Hello,
while improving and extending support for dllexport/import I have
noticed that the current way these are implemented is problematic and I
would like some input on how to proceed.
Currently dllexport/dllimport is treated as linkage type. This conflicts
with inlined functions because there is no linkage for the combination
of both. On first though, combining both doesn't make sense, but

Building Rgui.exe with Visual Studio
Hi,
I have downloaded and modified the source for rgui - because I wanted to add
a few more custom menus to the GUI. I have almost got it completed, but have
spent the last four hours trying to resolve the following issues (no pun
intended !)

[LLVMdev] LLVM 3.6: problems building on Windows using MSVC 2013
Ok, I have just found the cause of the error messages I am getting, and it
now makes sense to me why the 'normal' build works fine on Windows, Linux
and OS X, and why my personal build works on Linux and OS X, but not on
Windows. However, I still don't understand why I am getting the error
messages I am getting.
Anyway, it has to do with wanting to export some classes and function,

make dllimport/dllexport attributes work with mingw (and others)
The following patch changes export.h so that the dllimport/dllexport
attributes work with mingw/mingw-w64 and others:
- changes _declspec keyword to __declspec: the former may not be
defined by some toolchains.
- changes the _MSC_VER condition to universally _WIN32: MSVC, as well
as GCC supports this.
Attached patch: declspec.diff

storage class 0 symbol is generated for a double constant in COFF-x86-64 object file
Hi,
I am using the llvm codegen facility (version 7.0.1) to translate LLVM IR
for different platforms. I have this error particularly in win64 platform.
In my IR code I have such code snippet:
%50 = call i8* @my_function(i8* %48, double 2.000000e+00, double
2.000000e+00)
...
declare dllimport i8* @my_function(i8*, double, double)
By passing it to llc.exe, I find following symbol is declared in

storage class 0 symbol is generated for a double constant in COFF-x86-64 object file
Hi Reid,
Sure. Here I attach the trimmed IR(sim_0.ll) which llc.exe takes and
produces a 0 storage class symbol.
The IR is fairly long but there is only 1 usage of real constant as actual
argument passing to function iki_vlog_time() at line 137.
The version of llc.exe is
$ llc.exe --version

ORC JIT - Incorrect support for COFF files?
Hey Lang and Stefan,
Using dllimport on my “planschiValue” actually worked! But I have no idea why, because the relocation is still a REL32 if I use dumpbin… So how is it possible for that to work?
However… when I load an COFF object file, am I able to change the relocations to dllimport somehow? I honestly can’t imagine how this would work since the machine code is probably already adjusted to

ORC JIT - Incorrect support for COFF files?
Hey Lang,
That is really cool :D Is the creation of that table a Windows thingy or is this the way the LLVM handles it?
Also… since it is COFF related – the never ending story of “finding my global constructors” first of all: Yes! I tried using the “initialize” function of LLVMJIT – however this only worked when I was loading a Module. When I added the object file (from the same source) the

[LLVMdev] Problems linking shared library with __declspec(dllexport)
Hi all,
I am trying to use llvm-gcc to link shared libraries on windows/mingw32.
When I try to link libraries that contain functions declared with
__declspec(dllexport) someFunction();
I get the link error:
Cannot export _someFunction: symbol not found
Removing the declspec directive solves the problem, but this is not a
very feasible solution for me.
Using 'regular' gcc does not

object class with STI and Polymorphic Assoc''s.
Hi, lets say I have a a table, "Linkings" that I am using for
polymorphic associations. One of the associations is to the "person"
table, and there are several other associations.
"Person" has 2 types, "slacker" and "suckup".
It is modelled as such:
class Linking < ActiveRecord::Base
belongs_to :person
belongs_to :linkable, :polymorphic

I would imagine that quite a few people are or would be interested in it,
so. is there any plan to support this any time soon? This, unless it's
already supported in some way or another which I am not aware of.? I have

dllexport declspec should be put on the function definition, in this
example there is nothing to export - dllexport

R.DLL mapping by P/Invoke
After a long processing, I was able to create a version of a small C# class
that was able to emulate the rproxy by P/Invoke. This is mostly to find a
workaround a performance problem of the StatConnector.
It's almost work but ... I have strange memory exception when I call the
print function. The variable seems to not survive from one call to the
other.

method to accomplish this?

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] !!! 3.2 Release - Release Notes, Documentation, External Projects and the RC3
Hi,

As far as I know there is no change from 3.1 and Mignw
is considered experimental.
Incidentally RC2 mingw32 binaries have been uploaded
and are available for download and testing.

Yes. Google for "dllimport csharp".
