I just tested this, and I was wrong: passing -UPPC to configure in CPPFLAGS does not work for some reason.

Nico, There is a third place that '#undef PPC' is needed (at the top of PPCFixupKinds.h). Alternatively, you can run configure with -UPPC in your CPPFLAGS. Hello ppc32 users, I think I finally got the "official" answer on the ppc32 problem. Apparently some distributions build binutils so that it defaults to elf32ppc emulation rather than elf32ppclinux. This doesn't matter when using gcc, since gcc overrides the emulation explicitly, but it does matter when invoking ld directly like klibc does. This patch should hopefully take

A while back, there was mention that the release of CentOS 4.3 would bring a ppc32 version. Is this still in the works? If so, is it scheduled to be released at the same time as the more popular releases, or at a later time? Thanks, Barry
