[LLVMdev] Swaps of FP registers
Dear guys, what is the best way to implement a swap of floating point registers in X86? For the integer registers, I am using xchg. Is there a similar instruction for floating point? My function to insert swaps is like: void X86RegisterInfo::swapRegs( MachineBasicBlock & mbb, MachineBasicBlock::iterator mi, unsigned r1, unsigned r2, const TargetRegisterClass

[LLVMdev] ARMv4T Copy Lowering
Jim/Tim/Renato, A few days ago (has it been weeks now?) we discussed a codegen problem on armv4t having to do with lo->lo register copies. I'd like to start that discussion again, this time with a patch. A brief summary of the problem for folks who didn't catch the discussion earlier, and those like me who forget what they ate for breakfast: ;] The mov instruction on armv4t

[LLVMdev] llvm backend porting question ,
I start my porting for picoblaze,the soft cpu for fpga ,which is designed by XILINX from MSP430 porting . After some day's work , somethinig looks good , for it can generate for some simple C program: eg : int f1(int a) { return a+1; } but it failed with this : char f() { char a; a++; a++; a++; a++; a++; a++; a++; a++; a++; a++; a++; a++; a++; a++; a++;

[Sparc] builtin setjmp / longjmp - need help to get past last problem
Hi, I'm implementing __builtin_setjmp and __builtin_longjmp for Sparc 32 bit processors (64 bit later, time allowing). I'm basing the code on the PowerPC version, which itself is based on the X86 version. This code is very nearly working, and I've had it working for -O0 optimisation (with a slightly different version to that below), so I know it's close. However, the PowerPC

[LLVMdev] Problem in X86 backend (again)
Hi, I'm still having problems implementing my custom inserter in the X86 backend. I found a solution to my last problem (http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvmdev/2014-October/078296.html), by using a virtual register. The binary works when it's compiled in -O0, but not in -O1,-O2,... I really can't figure what I'm doing wrong... Any idea? Here is the code of my custom

[LLVMdev] Virtual register problem in X86 backend
Hi, I'm having trouble using virtual register in the X86 backend. I implemented a new intrinsic and I use a custom inserter. The goal of the intrinsic is to set the content of the stack to zero at the end of each function. Here is my code: MachineBasicBlock * X86TargetLowering::EmitBURNSTACKWithCustomInserter( MachineInstr *MI, MachineBasicBlock

[LLVMdev] Properly handling mem-loc arguments when prologue adjusts FP.
For my target, I handle incoming memory arguments by creating a store to memory (in LowerCall, [1]), then creating a fixed object on the stack and loading from it (in LowerFormalArguments[2]). This approach was based on MSP430. I now have the problem that the resulting loads in my output assembly are done assuming that the call stack looks something like: ------ MemArg ------ MemArg ------

[LLVMdev] RFC: Tail call optimization X86
Hi Evan, I incoporated the changes you request but to the following i have got a question: > Also, moving the option > there will allow us to change fastcc ABI (callee popping arguments) > only when this option is on. See Chris' email: I am not to sure on that. because that would make modules compiled with the flag on incompatible with ones compiled without the flag off as

ARM Backend: Emit conditional move
Hi, I'm trying to emit a conditional move in the ARM backend for a custom intrinsic. Basically, I want to emit the following the following instruction sequence: cmp r0, r1 moveq r2, #1 To implement this, I first emit a compare instruction and then I'm trying to emit the conditional move, which is failing. BuildMI(&MBB, DL, TII->get(ARM::CMPrr))

[LLVMdev] Trouble with virtual registers
I'm having trouble with virtual registers/register allocation in my back-end. Basically the FastRegAlloc pass is generating calls to storeToStackSlot and loadFromStackSlot, in which we build new machine instructions, which are then _not_ processed by the reg allocator. I understand that BuildMI is changing the list of MachInst. that the allocator is iterating over, but we need to have a new

[LLVMdev] MachineBasicBlock insertion
Hi all, I am really stumped on a problem for long. I could not figure out why. That is why i am here. OK, here is the problem: I tried to insert a MachineBasicBlock into a function. Here is the code snippet: // insert a machine basic block with the error_label into MF and before I // Pred is the predecessor of the block to be inserted // the new basic block is inserted right before I void

[LLVMdev] [RFC] [PATCH] add tail call optimization to thumb1-only targets
Hello, find enclosed a first patch for adding tail call optimizations for thumb1 targets. I assume that this list is the right place for publishing patches for review? Since this is my first proposal for LLVM, I'd very much appreciate your feedback. What the patch is meant to do: For Tail calls identified during DAG generation, the target address will be loaded into a register by use

[LLVMdev] Assertion failed after my storeRegToStackSlot/loadFromStackSlot
Hi All. I'm writing storeRegToStackSlot and loadFromStackSlot function for my Target. This Target can store/load one byte (not all word) from FrameIndex. If I need to store 16 bit register I will must to split it to two instruction like this: BuildMI(MBB, MI, dl, get(Z80::LD8xmr)) .addFrameIndex(FrameIndex).addImm(0) .addReg(SrcReg, 0, Z80::subreg_lo); BuildMI(MBB, MI, dl,

[LLVMdev] Assertion failed after my storeRegToStackSlot/loadFromStackSlot
Hi Dmitriy, As you've seen our current spill code assumes that spill/reloads are single instructions. I think the best way to work around this is to introduce load/store pseudo-instructions and expand these after register allocation. Cheers, Lang. [LLVMdev] deleting or replacing a MachineInst
I made the change to the BuildMI() call. Again, I don't think that matters. #define BUILD_INS(opcode, new_reg, i) \ BuildMI(*MBB, OldMI, MBBI->getDebugLoc(), TII->get(X86::opcode)) \ .addReg(X86::new_reg, kill).addImm(i) I didn't completely understand your other proposed change:  for (MachineBasicBlock::iterator MBBI = MBB->begin();
