similar to: Any experience with old Half Life CDs?

Hi! I'm trying to install HL2 and I have no CD drive, So I've been using CDemu to mount the CDs, which works, but when the installer asks "Insert Disc 2" I eject the CD with Code: wine eject d: I then mount CD2 and click to continue but nothing happens and the window doesn't go away. I am stuck and exhausted my resources, can anyone help?

The instalation is all ok, for both steam and half life 2, but whenever I run steam, it starts upgrading to a new version then after the download proccess I get a "RunTime" error! I'm using WINE on Ubuntu (intrepid) and I was able to install Steam and it works just fine. I installed Half Life 2 but I c sseem to get it to run. When I open it from steam, steam crashes. When I open it with WINE (without steam open) steam crashes as soon as it gets me logged in. anyone have a similar problem?

I'm stuck with wine-0.9.19. Each release since then seems to run Steam okay, but then when Steam launches HL2, it fails to load at various points. Anyone else noticed this or know what's going on? If someone could make a suggestion for which debug level to enable that would be helpful. Thanks.

I am getting a small popup saying Could not execute de external program c:/program fiels/steam\Steam.exe I there a simple workaround for that? I am using Wine 0.9.31 on FC6.
