Windows Media Player
I'm having a problem with WMP and icecast 2.2.0. When people try to connect it buffers the feed really slow and people never go get audio. I've tried connecting over the LAN and it does the same thing. Open http:/scanner.weatherserver.net/live in media player and you will see what I am talking about. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Weather @

Leo Currie: > This link might be useful: > http://gonze.com/playlists/playlist-format-survey.html > hi leo, thanks for the link, it's definitely useful. meanwhile i doubt that it's a mime-type problem. i've made some php-scripts with different header and mime-type output, makes no difference. wmp buffers until the doctor comes... xmms plays obviously anything... i've

Alternative to windows media player?
Hi, I'm installing Wine for the first time on my Mac through MacPorts. I've been reasonably successful and the application that I wanted to use, a training program, runs almost flawlessly :-) It does ask to use Windows Media Player and I did install WMP9 and this installed fine and the application does play the videos. However, these are thumbnail sized. While this isn't a big deal,

Ogg Media Player
What is the best (preferable open source) media player for oggs? I'm on windows, and Windows Media Player is the best thing I can seem to find. I've looked at WinAmp, QCD, Sonique, and FreeAmp, and they just don't seem to have the media library functionality WMP has. Is there another player out there I'm missing? Chris

Vorbis in Windows Media Player 9, (partial) success
As I said on http://wiki.xiph.org/ClientSupport I managed to get WMP9 under Windows 2003 to work with OGG vorbis files. Requisite : OggDS 0.9.9.5 - they can be opened with the Open... dialog and WMP does not complain any more that it is an unsupported file format - they can be dragged from explorer into WMP and WMP will play them without any complaint - they can be added to the media library.

Vorbis streams on Windows Media Player
I was under the impression that Tobias's Direct Show filters would allow Windows Media player to play Ogg Vorbis streams, but after testing it here, apparently it doesn't. Does anyone know if there is anyway of making WMP play vorbis streams? The company I'm involved with who will be creating thousands of internet stations will most likely need WMP to play the streams, since it is

FLAC Plug-in for Windows Media Player?
I was wondering if there is a FLAC plugin for Windows Media Player? Just from doing web-searches, it doesn't look like there is, at least as far as I can tell. So, if there isn't a plug-in for WMP, well, why isn't there? And is there anyone working on one? I'm a programmer, though I've never done any WMP programming. But, I would think it wouldn't be too hard to do a

I am having the same problem as the original bug poster. I am using WMP 9.00.00.3075 running on Windows XP and using

Windows Media Player Crashes
I installed windows media player 9 with winetricks. It worked but no sound. I tried downloading and installing WMP10 and now it will briefly open like 2 secs and then disappear. It does this every time i try to open. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling WMP9 but it also does this open and crash now. I am using Ubuntu 10.10 and was using wine 1.3 but went back to 1.2 thinking that may have

Ogg support in Windows Media Player 9 and WMP Media Library
Greetings all, I've got some questions and news (I think) regarding the Ogg DirectShow filter, and Ogg support in Windows Media Player and the WMP Media Library. The OggDS that's in CVS -- is there any reason it's only at the 0.9.9.3 level and not the 0.9.9.5 level that's on Tobias's webpage? After downloading the 0.995 version and digging through the Windows Media
