Linux to Windows Interoperability
Hello, Currently using a freely available MS Windows file system driver, Ext2Fsd, to communicate (read/write) with external media formatted EXT3 (Linux volume) from within MS Windows. Curious to know if Samba is able to support communication (read/write) with external media formatted EXT3 (Linux volume) from within the MS Windows environment? Looking forward to your reply. Thanks. Best,

wine-20050419 - where to set audio driver type?
Hi, In a completely clean account that's never run Wine before I run wine --version. Wine installs a new .wine directory but this Wine directory has no config file. how to synch multiple servers?
Is there a way to synch multiple servers at once so when one is changed, samba updates all the other servers at the same time automatically? -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/how-to-synch-multiple-servers--tp28019825p28019825.html Sent from the Samba - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Multi-line comments?
Hi, I looked in the language definition and was surprised. Is there really no multi-line/block comment defined in R? I wanted to comment out 20 lines that I'm moving to a function but didn't want to delete them. Is there no defined way to get around using a # on each of the 20 lines? Thanks, Mark

high memory utilzation
Hi I have a server running samba process and there are about 70 samba users connected at a time. The system has 4Gb of memory and it seems each samba process is utilizing only 3352Kb of memory. When I run the command pmap -d (pid of samba) It gives as: b7ffa000 4 rw-s- 0000000000000000 0fd:00003 messages.tdb bfe46000 1768 rw--- 00000000bfe46000 000:00000 [ stack ]

I just get a Server not found page no matter what URL I punch in. Anyone have any idea what might be going on? I also noticed that the desktop background setting is

ReShape/cast question - sum of value in table
Hi, I've tried to capture the basics of this problem I'm having. Been working on this for a couple of days and just cannot get past it. As a test of this list software I've attached is a small text file zipped up. I hope it gets through but if it doesn't I'll post the actual text which is only 26 lines. Put it somewhere sensible and change the first line in the code to point

DotNet applications
Hi, I have an application that want to install the DotNet FrameWork. the Setup of the FrameWork starts, but then fails with the message, Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher would be required. How can I get over this message without really installing an Internet Explorer? As far as I know, for all Applications that require IE, the renderengine khtml is used instead. Could it be hacked in that

'scan' in a script?
When I use the scan function in the Rgui console it works as expected. However it seems that when I put the same command in a script file it doesn't wait for input. Is there an option to scan to make it wait for input when used in a script? Or is there possibly a different function that will do in a script the same sort of thing as scan does in the console? Thanks, Mark

What command lists everything in a package?
Hi, Two easy questions I'm sure. 1) As an example if I use the code require(zoo) then once it's loaded is there a command that lists everything that zoo provides so that I can study the package? Certainly help(zoo) gives me some clues about what zoo does but I'd like a list. Maybe there's a way to query something but in Rgui under Win Vista ls() returns nothing after zoo

More complicated multi-plot layouts?
Hi, I made the attached picture by mocking up three separate plots sort of like how I'd like to make a new plot. Hopefully it will get through to the list. Is there a way to do this directly using par somehow? Or one of the other plotting packages? Basically, multiple larger plot above multiple groups of smaller plots? The smaller plots are just par(mrow=c(2,3)) things, and I can

Mailing list <-> forum gateway
Hi all, First off - this is not flame bait or a troll. It's a genuine question. Since the forum gateway was introduced, it is my opinion that this list is getting flooded with newbie questions. Check the "I just installed Ubuntu" thread for a typical example. I wish to silently remove all wine-forum posts and their replies from my inbox. I plan to filter based on From:

Looking for developers trying to build Windows apps on Wine
So far, Firefox (with msvc 2005) and a couple other apps (one using open watcom) build properly on wine. I'm pecking away at the problems that get in the way (particularly cmd bugs at the moment). If you're trying to build a Windows app on Wine by running your normal Windows build procedure (as opposed to using winegcc), I'd like to hear from you, especially if a bug in cmd or some

convert_string_talloc: Conversion error: Incomplete multibyte sequence
My users are having a lot of problems since I upgraded a samba domain member server from samba-3.0.37 to 3.5.X. The main issue seems to be a very long delay loading office files (sometimes minutes if the file loads at all) and a lot of read only errors and users not being able to save. I have found that rebooting the client, restarting samba, or killing the users smbd process regains access to the
