XML write?
Is there any function to write a XML structure, after it was read using xmlTreeParse? Ex: library(XML) x <- xmlTreeParse("Irpf2008/aplicacao/dados/12345678901/12345678901.xml") # write it... Alberto Monteiro PS: please, brazilians, don't be offended by my foul language!

Multi domain controller environment Ubuntu 12.04, replication and DNS updates broken
Hi all, Am posting this again with a more helpful subject line... My 5 DC production domain (4.1.7 Ubuntu 12.04) is in a bit of a state. I attempted an upgrade from 4.1.5 to 4.1.7 which appeared to work, but now we have replication errors and am unable to add any new DNS entries. I am now certain that we've fallen foul of the DomainDnsZones DeletedObjects problem that I've been reading

Testing software on CentOS 7
I need to test a new version of Geany but already have the repo version installed on all my systems. In order not to foul up my current installation, what is the suggested procedure for installing and testing this new version? I tried installing in a docker container which of course went fine but could not run it from there. Suggestions appreciated, thank you.

runners and development/production mode
I''m using a runner script to try and send batch email update, however I get the impression that the runner is not operating in production mode and as a result it is falling foul of the system I have in place to block emails goinc out in development in testing modes. Is there some way for me to force a runner to operate in a particular mode, or even to check the mode it is operating in?

Rails Edge stability - has_many :through
Hi all, If I was to start developing an application using Edge Rails with the view to deploying on Rails 1.1, would I fall foul of lots of bugs, or is it relatively stable? I''d really like has_many :through relationships, to save me dealing with HABTM + associations. Thanks, Tom

very slow network from GXP-2000 switch port
Hello, At a client site yesterday I installed a dozen GrandStream GXP-2000's with 1.1.0.13 firmware but I had to backtrack and reactivate the old PBX and phones: network access for users windoze PC's through the phone's switch port was unbearably slow, making it almost impossible to work. When plugging back PC's directly to the LAN speed was normal again. On my test setup

which ACL attributes are supported by Samba?
I've tried to determine this empirically, but have run foul of config issues that won't be resolved in the immediate future. Basically, I know that Samba + ACL + an acl-aware filesystem will allow me to assign unix-style permissions to arbitrary groups of people for a given file. However, Windows has additional permissions: delete, take ownership, and, um, I think possibly one or two more.

[Off Topic] humour, XMAS, ground loop - good business strategy
hi, I received this e-mail which contains a "ballad", at first I thought it was junk mail, but then I read through it, for the EE members of this list, it may be quite humorous. I don't know if the ballad is original, but at least it's the XMAS season, so it's something to lighten up your day, eh? -samudra """ How the Ground Loop Stole Christmas

Re: teliax [Was: LiveVoip is Bankrupt]
So far my experience with TOS has been that most of them are pretty odd. No one wants the liability of a stock trade gone foul or a call to the doctor that gets disconnected. Essentially, those things in the TOS are just a CYA. They are un-enforced but should someone decide to attempt to sue based upon a financial loss, the ITSP is covered. So, yep. That is weird but not unexpected. Heaven

Samba BDC and secrets.tdb question
I have a question about setting up a samba BDC (with a samba PDC). I am running Samba as the PDC on a small network. Other Unix boxes on the network are running with: security = DOMAIN encrypt passwords = Yes update encrypted = Yes password server = 192.168.1.5 So they make use of the PDC for smbmount and smbsh applications. The W2K box also uses Samba at the PDC. I want to set up a Redhat

odd mdadm behavior
Allo esteemed Centos-ers, Noticed something funny with an mdadm mirror based raid the other day. So I had a system disk set to mirror via mdadm. One of the disks went south at a remote office and since there was no one available to swap out the disk, I thought to leave it for later. Well, due to work being what is it, this later became a year. During one of the servers many reboots, much of

Has_many :through with checkboxes?
Just when I started getting the hang of has_and_belongs_to_many relationships, I realize that I should probably convert several of my app''s joins to has_many :through type relationships. One example, pairing users with categories via subscriptions, where each user can be the "owner" of a category, has given me particular trouble when I try to update a user''s

speex preprocess redux
I'm not sure if this is due to the same problem, but I get the same clipping behavior when trying to use VAD+denoiser on a particular mic+speaker setup that has significant background noise (enough to really foul up the codec should the denoiser be turned off.) Leaving VAD off and transmitting continuously seems to be the only way to avoid this clipping. Another person I regularly

Several times my packages have fallen foul of the latex check at the uploading-to-CRAN stage, creating extra work for Kurt Hornik. I've never bothered trying to get latex working on my own packages (happy with vanilla help) but am told that "latex is the closest thing to a syntax checker for Rd files" and that I should set it up. Now, there is already a latex on my (Windows XP)
