active-active georeplication?
Halo replication [1] could be of interest here. This functionality is available since 3.11 and the current plan is to have it fully supported in a 4.x release. Note that Halo replication is built on existing synchronous replication in Gluster and differs from the current geo-replication implementation. Kotresh's response is spot on for the current geo-replication implementation. Regards,

thx for reply, that was so much interesting to me. How can I get these news about glusterfs new features? Enabling Halo sets volume RO
Hi all, I'm taking a stab at deploying a storage cluster to explore the Halo AFR feature and running into some trouble. In GCE, I have 4 instances, each with one 10gb brick. 2 instances are in the US and the other 2 are in Asia (with the hope that it will drive up latency sufficiently). The bricks make up a Replica-4 volume. Before I enable halo, I can mount to volume and r/w files. The

Enabling Halo sets volume RO
I think the problem here is by default the quorum is playing around here, to get rid of this you can change quorum type as fixed and the value as 2 , or you can disable the quorum. active-active georeplication?
hi everybody, Have glusterfs released a feature named active-active georeplication? If yes, in which version it is released? If no, is it planned to have this feature? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... active-active georeplication?
Hi, No, gluster doesn't support active-active geo-replication. It's not planned in near future. We will let you know when it's planned. New halo for "simple" 2 nodes asynchronous replica (async master-master)
Hi, is it possible to use the new "halo" feature to create a replica 2 volume on 2 bricks that are located in 2 different regions (10+ ms latency) so to be able to write to both nodes from each region without the need to a synchronous confirmation of the other node? Does this page includes the most up to date /complete docs about that feature?

Halo:Combat Evolved with black text and overhead
I recently found that Halo was not properly displaying menu and other 2D items in any color except black. I didn't have this problem until I upgraded to wine 1.3.24. I use Fedora 14 with ATI Radeon HD. Here is a screenshot I think it has something to do with ATI proprietary driver conflict, since I can run in another PC with nVidia and it displays

Halo install won't work.
I can run the setup.exe. The Problem I get is when I press install, and prompts me to enter a license key. It say "setup.exe has exited with an error, have a look at the log window". The window that says that message gives me an option to click "okay", so that window goes away. But I don't think that problem is an issue. The problem comes when I go back to the Halo

Halo Trial Error
I am trying to get Halo Trial to run on Wine 1.1.5, after having to success on rc3 for a previous version. Can't remember what. It is going better than the previous one, i can get it to start, and it shows the halo screen, unlike before, but it won't actually start. It crashes immediately after that.

Halo
I have a strange problem in Halo where the mouse seem to run many times slower than the framerate. Even when the framerate is decent the mouse is choppy for lack of a better word. It's sort of a strange motion I can't really describe, sticky and halting, but it does seem to be related to the framerate in that that faster it is,the faster the mouse is. I have heard of a mouse warping bug

Trying to run (tweak) a few games on Wine
Hello, I'm a relatively new user to Linux, it's only been two weeks since I'm using it. I'm trying to run two games right now : Halo and Live for Speed. Here are the issues for each. Halo : Performance in Halo is excellent, it's actually better in Linux than it was in Windows XP. Frame rate is good, looks like solid 60 FPS all the time. The only problem is the mouse movement

Re: Halo install won't work.
The Halo installer requires a native windows .dll file to complete the installation. Find a copy of mfc42.dll from either another windows machine or download it from the internet, and place it in the following directory: [Arrow] ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32 This should solve the craving for the PidGen.dll file & the installation should then be able to complete without any errors.
