Covered to some extent in: http://wiki.winehq.org/Debugging_'Wild_Metal_Country' For some reason, all pages in the Wine Wiki (like the above) is _fucking_ impossible to find with Google. I don't know why, but I think it might be because all the pages have "index:

Re: Sum-up: Re-proposal: web forums
Hello, I have noted below problems that we can take care of, and those that aren't our problem, never were, never will be, impossible to be our problem, (you get the picture), because they are PEBKAC errors :) For all of those that don't know: PEBKAC = Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair. phpbb forum with rails application.
I would like to knock up a phpbb forum with a rails application. I wanted to do this as I want to use ActiveRecord to crawl through the user database in the rails app. Is there a way to do this - on the same domain name and server... Or does it depend how the server is setup? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Forum software is rubbish.
Hi, I just tried to register for the wine forum, and noticed several really annoying things about the process: 1. The "Register" link is kind of hard to find. Normally it is just next to the "Forgot password" link. 2. No SSL. 3. You emailed me my password! Argh! This is a terrible idea for obvious reasons, and also implies: 4. Passwords aren't stored hashed. Seriously.

Why no forum app in rails yet?
Hi Guys, So creating a forums application seems like something that rails can handle easily and well, and whatever implementation that came to fruition would be head and shoulders above existing products like vBulliten and phpBB. Even the existing rails forums are using php-based forum products! An insult if you ask me. So my question -- is there any current development of a rails-based

Forum Software Update and mailing list gateway
Hi folks, the volunteer admins for forum.winehq.org have been deleting an increasing amount of spam lately, and it seems clear that we need to update the forum software to a new release with better antispam features. The catch is, the mailing list gateway plugin is not compatible with the new version of the forum. It looks like the users are split about 90% on the forum and about 10% on the

To AppDB, or not to AppDB ?
I have several Windows executable that do run under Wine, and that only install a number of files in a directory, and modify the registry so that the main GPS mapping app can find and use them. Is it worth making an AppDB entry for such progs ? Cheers, Ron. -- About the most originality that any writer can hope to achieve honestly is to steal with good judgment.

APPDB now appears to be working at normal acceptable speed for administrator login's + backlog of APPDB data requiring approval.
Thanks go out to whoever it was that fixed the AppDB so that it's now running nice and quick again. I can now login and submit applications/tests etc. There's a backlog of 500+ submissions which will take 2-4 hours to clear, hopefully this should be cleared within the next few days. Nick
