Success with newhidups - Dynex DX-800U
Just wanted to report that I have successfully got a Dynex DX-800U UPS functioning with the newhidups driver. This UPS appears to be made by CyberPower Systems and I believe is the same as the CPS 800AVR. --------- # upsc dynex@localhost battery.charge: 66 battery.charge.low: 10 battery.charge.warning: 20 battery.runtime: 399 battery.runtime.low: 300 battery.type: PbAcid battery.voltage: 19.7

on demand server
Hello, I am trying to set up a stream server for audio archives. I've just tried Icecast2 / Ices, and it is really good stuff, but I cannot yet get what I want : streaming on demand. I would like the user to just "click and stream" on the web page (and not listen to a stream that is already running). I don't know if it is possible with Icecast/Ices. Any suggestions would be

Cyberpower Value1200E might not need 0.667 battery scaling
I just got a Cyberpower SOHO Value 1200 ELCD UPS and even with nut 2.7.2, it appears to report battery voltage too low due to the battery scaling function (In drivers/cps-hid.c). Even though the ups has usb id: 0764:0501, UPS.PowerSummary.Voltage reports 26.6 for the 24V batteries so when the 0.667 battery scale is applied that goes down to 17.7V. upsc output: battery.charge: 100

alsa not available in winecfg under karmic?
I upgraded to karmic yesterday, and ran winecfg. The list of possible sound systems has shrunk to three: oss, jack and eSound. I tried running winecfg plain, and with padsp and pasuspender prefixes. Susan

Kontakt doesn't respond to Akai USB MIDI Keyboard
Ubuntu 10.4, Wine 1.1.42, Native Instruments Kontakt 4, Akai MPK88 I've installed Kontakt (sampled musical instruments). Sound is working OK with the OSS driver, but the program doesn't respond to the USB keyboard. :- ( The keyboard shows up in `winecfg` under "Audio", OSS, MIDI In/Out devices. I checked the MIDI options for the Kontakt program and it DOES show the Akai

jack not available in winecfg
Hi, I'm running wine 1.0.0-1 on xandros. I want to use wine with jack. So I added libwine-jack to my system and expected to see the jack driver in winecfg after the alsa one but nothing. But adding libwine-oss show new oss entry in winecfg, so why not for jack? Any Idea?

Help with newhidups subdriver for Dynex UPS
Hello everyone! If this message was posted twice, my apologies. I'm having issues with my webmail today... I am using the testing version of NUT from SVN at changeset 582. I have successfully created a stub for newhidups driver for my Dynex DX-800U UPS, but I am completely lost on the customization of it. I've followed the hid-subdrivers.txt instructions and I understand I need to

jack
Installing alsa and jack libraries places devices for these in the winecfg menus. If I choose jack, what I would expect is that the wine instance would init jack clients for audio in and out and midi in and out (not really jack but jack can connect these as well). The jack out clients might be connected to the default alsa device, etc. This is normal for jack aware applications. I do not see

Korg NanoKey under Wine
I have successfully installed/ran AudioMulch under Wine. One quib, my MIDI interface is not showing up. My first thought was to install the Windows driver under Wine, but it's the one .exe that wont let me root/Terminal it's permissions. It's usually a class compliant plug/play device. Any suggestions?

No MIDI devices in wine
I'd want to run the windows editor for my guitar preamp (VOX Tonelab SE) which is connected to the MIDI in and out sockets of my soundcard. The program installs and starts without any problems under wine but it can't find any MIDI ports. MIDI works fine otherwise in Linux - I can read from and write to the sockets with arecordmidi and aplaymidi, but there are no MIDI devices visible

USB headset mic input
Hello! Did some search about this issue of mine ,and didn't find anything that helps me solve this issue. I dont have mic input from my usb headset in wine. (I tryed 2 different headset and even analog mic in). The mic works natively with alsa, I can record sound from this mic. But I can't seem to make it work under wine. I added the headset in .alsarc file and I see the headset when I

winecfg/pixel shading -> not working, various Steam (CS:S) ?s
wine version: 0.9.22 application : Steam (CS:S) I realize these are game related questions, but they directly relate to wine so I am hoping to find some answers here. INTRO: I am working on installing CS:S with wine vs 0.9.22. It's installed and I can connect to online games, but every time sound is played on the game, my fps drops to 10 fps (this is almost all the time). If I run to a

This happens everytime I run winecfg and click the audio tab. Clicking the other tabs works fine. I've updated to

no jack option in audio selection
Hi everyone using Wine, I'm having a problem getting wine to use jack for the audio driver. I have compiled wine-0.9.47 from source and the jack headers are detected during configuration. Yet, there is no option to choose jack as the audio driver when using winecfg. I know of at least one other person who also has this problem, who posted here
