Using a *supported* web cam under CentOS 5
OK, I plugged in a web cam device (something called a 'Zoomy' -- a web
cam/microscope). It is recognized by the unc driver. Now what?
Does there exist a program that can use this device? Or do I have to write
one from scratch? I have been searching the web, but all of the links are
about getting and installing *drivers*. I don't need a driver, I need a
userland program.

Logitech Brio 4K Ultra HD Webcam - 960-001105
Everyone,
I was hoping to be able to plug the Logitech Brio in and have it work,
but it did not. I can have it connect to a Windows 10 laptop and have
it function, so I know the camera works. ?
The Centos 7.4 is recognizing it when I plug in the usb 3.0 cable. The
results of dmesg demonstrated :

CentOS 6.6: Webcam problem
Last month we discussed the problems with webcams in CentOS 6 and I
raised Bugzilla #1158988 with Red Hat. This bug has now been declared
a duplicate of 1145805. Unfortunately I'm unable to access that report
so although I know Red Hat are looking into the matter I don't know
what they're doing.

Logitech webcam for use with CentOS 7
I am thinking of buying a Logitech C920S Pro HD or C922 webcam for the necessary video conferencing.
Is anyone using that with Zoom or perhaps with Jitsi? Do I need drivers? Any issues?
Thank you.

utility to find which /dev/videoX
is there a utility or SOME method to
determine which /dev/videoX (like /dev/video0 or /dev/video1)
is being used by a device???
Example I have a USB camera and a USB TV module
how do I determine which device is on /dev/video0 and which is on
/dev/video1
I have seen perhaps a way in dmesg but I am looking for the
BEST way and the correct way.
Thanks,
Jerry

Can't run amcap.exe with webcam
OS: Ubuntu 10.04 with Gnome
wine version: 1.1.42
amcap.exe version: 9.00
wecam: Logictech QuickCam E3500
The webcam works very well with ubuntu (I just got cheese to test the webcam). But I try to copy a amcap.exe and run 'wine amcap.exe' or 'sudo wine amcap.exe'. The amcap will crash when the amcap gui appears.
Following the Documents, I turn on the debug mode. What should I do

"Communications with UPS advice@localhost lost" when using an other USB device
I use Debian jessie with nut-server 2.7.2-1+b3.
Yesterday I've configured it for my new Advice PRS850 (a UPS with USB interface).
I also have an USB webcam (and also USB mouse and keyboard, but that doesn't matter).
When I start the program Cheese (a program which uses the webcam), I receive the following broadcast message:
"Communications with UPS advice at localhost lost"

video capture
Hey all,
I'm looking for a application that I can use to capture video from a USB
web camera.
I have Cheese Webcam Booth 2.28.1 installed but it leaves a lot to be
desired in the video capture field. Things like actually working. It
does an adequate job of snagging a batch of single images in burst mode.
Any suggestions?

transaction object - how to coerce this data
Hi,
I am wanting to look at frequent item sets using the arules package. I need
to transform my data into a "transactions" object. The data I read in from a
file has 2 columns, an ID and an item. How do I convert data like this into
a transactions object?
I've tried
class? transactions
but it only confuses me.
My data is like this....
basketID item
1 bread
1 cheese
1 milk
