Pareto frontier plots in three dimensions
Hello all This is my first posting for some years. I am back using R again and must say I do like the language (regarding scripting, I also use matlab, perl, and bash). My question involves plotting a Pareto frontier in three dimensions. This is strictly a exercise in visualization, I make no attempt to extract the Pareto set (aka dominating subset) first. EXAMPLE PLOTS For some example

Sweave - have Sexpr print 3 digits when the last is 0
Hi, I want 3 digits printed even if the last one is zero with \Sexpr{} For example: > ghg.06[12] [1] 0.2501008 I want: 0.250 What I've tried: \Sexpr{round(ghg.06[12],3)} 0.25 \Sexpr{format(ghg.06[12])} % set options(digits=3) in earlier rnw chunk 0.25 \Sexpr{round(ghg.06[12],4} %but I want 3 not 4 digits 0.2501 Thanks in advance. problem with coding for 'optim' in R
Hi, there I am a graduate student new to coding in S who is hitting a bit of a wall at present using an "optim" function. I am running into some troubles, and was hoping someone might be able to recognize where I am going wrong. As background: I have constructed a loop that carries out a 365-day calculation for a mass-balance model. Basically, the model depends on 2 variables (p,

Errors compiling flac in Visual Studio Express 2005
Hi! I have trouble compiling the flac library using Microsofts free (yes MS gives it away including the optimizing C++ compiler msvc8.0) Visual Studio Express 2005. I get the output shown below. Does anyone have a way to make flac compile in VS 2005? Thanks! Ulrik 1>------ Rebuild All started: Project: replaygain_analysis_static, Configuration: Debug Win32 ------ 1>Deleting

Hmisc, Design, summary.Design plot- changing confidence intervals, adding color or decreasing font size
Hi, 1. I want 95% not 99% confidence intervals in my summary.Design plot using the Design package. Putting conf.int=.95 as an argument in plot does not work. The default appears to be .99 not .95 as stated in the package Design manual (p. 164). 2. My sweave chuck is below and my output is attached as well as linked here: http://www.sonoma.edu/users/s/stanny/330A/project/ciplot.pdf 3.

ANOVA non-sphericity test and corrections (eg, Greenhouse-Geisser)
I'm an experimental psychologist and when I run ANOVA analysis in SPSS, I normally ask for a test of non-sphericity (Box's M-test). I also ask for output of the corrections for non-sphericity, such as Greenhouse-Geisser and Huhn-Feldt. These tests and correction factors are commonly used in the journals for experimental and other psychology reports. I have been switching from SPSS to R

Problem
Hi Friends, I am very new to this list. We are using wine for some of the application from migrating our desktop from Windows to Linux. We find it really very useful. Here I am facing one problem. We are able to run Internet Explorer on Linux using wine without any problem and infact it is running great except one problem. In Combobox(ListBox) when we try to select any item using any

repeated measures anova, sphericity, epsilon, etc
I have 3 questions (below). Background: I am teaching an introductory statistics course in which we are covering (among other things) repeated measures anova. This time around teaching it, we are using R for all of our computations. We are starting by covering the univariate approach to repeated measures anova. Doing a basic repeated measures anova (univariate approach) using aov() seems

R Greenhouse-Geiser correction?
Is there a function in R for doing Greenhouse-Geiser correction in ANOVA models? Is it already available in the aov function? How do we use it? Best, Darren [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Greenhouse-Geisser correction
Hi all, I was wondering whether there are any packages that provide for the Greenhouse-Geisser correction, an adjustment used in univariate repeated measures when the sphericity assumption is violated (both numerator and denominator degrees of freedom are multiplied by GG-epsilon, and the significance of the F ratio is evaluated with the new degrees of freedom)? I have seen a few emails with

How to get Greenhouse-Geisser epsilons from anova?
Dear all, I apologize for my basic question. I try to calculate an anova for repeated measurements with 3 factors (A,B,C) having 2, 2, and 7 levels. or with an additional fourth between subjects factor D. Everything works fine using aov(val ~ A*B*C + Error(subject/ (A*B*C) ) ) or aov(val ~ (D*A*B*C) + Error(subject/(A*B*C)) + D ) val, A, B, C, D and subject are columns in a data.frame. How

Greenhouse-Geisser epsilon for interaction term
Hi, I'm running a repeated measure ANOVA to test the effects of the within-subjects factors "congr", "isi" and their interaction, on the variable "latencies" aov(latencies ~ congr*isi + Error(subj/(congr*isi)),data=dats) "congr" has 4 levels, while "isi" has "3" levels. I would like to check for possible violations of the

Excel can do what R can't?????
Hi there I thought this would be of particular interest to people using 'optim' functions and perhaps people involved with R development. I've been beaten down by R trying to get it to perform an optimization on a mass-balance model. I've written the same program in excel, and using the 'solver' function, it comes up with an answer for my variables (p, ACT, which

Reproducing SAS GLM in R
Hi, I'm still trying to figure out that GLM procedure in SAS. Let's start with the simple example: PROC GLM; MODEL col1 col3 col5 col7 col9 col11 col13 col15 col17 col19 col21 col23 =/nouni; repeated roi 6, ord 2/nom mean; TITLE 'ABDERUS lat ACC 300-500'; That's the same setup that I had in my last email. I have three factors: facSubj, facCond and facRoi. I had this pretty
