CITATION file with multiple citEntry(): no BibTeX produced by citation()
[Using R 2.8.0 / Win XP / ] I just added a CITATION file to the heplots package--- appended below. From the document ion for ?CITATION, there can be *one or more* calls to citEntry() within the CITATION file, and each should produce an object of class "citation". With just a single citEntry(), citation produces the expected output, with BibTeX entry: >

Use of R in Schools
I am looking for information on experimentation with the use of R in the teaching of statistics and science in schools. Any leads would be very welcome. I am certain that there is such experimentation. I've made this inquiry on r-sig-teaching, with no response. John. BibTeX entries in CITATION file
Dear List, While trying to define a customised CITATION file for a package, following R-exts, I realised that if I use only one 'citEntry' I got both a text description and a BibTex entry for the package, as for the 'nlme' package: -------------------------- citation('nlme') To cite package 'nlme' in publications use: Jose Pinheiro, Douglas Bates, Saikat

R-etiquette
I'm about to present a report (for internal use of governmental agency). I used extensively R , contibuted packages, as well as communications on the R-list As well as citing R, I would like to know how to cite the contributed packages (it is not so easy, as some have been used exensively, other marginally, some are called from another package and some were not used as softwares but gave me

bibtex::read.bib -- extracting bibentry keys
I have two versions of a bibtex database which have gotten badly out of sync. I need to find find all the entries in bib2 which are not contained in bib1, according to their bibtex keys. But I can't figure out how to extract a list of the bibentry keys in these databases. A minor question: Is there someway to prevent read.bib from ignoring entries that do not contain all required fields?

print.citation, small bug?
Hi, I use Sweave extensively in my consulting work. When submitting reports to the scientists I work with I like to use the citation function to reference any packages I use, to give proper acknowledgement. I noted in the documentation that a citation inherits from bibentry, and indeed, > citr<- citation() > class(citr) [1] "citation" "bibentry" However, following

Making a package CITATION file from BibTeX
Dear Colleagues, I would like to provide a CITATION file for my package nat.nblast [1]. I have the correct citation in BibTeX format [2]. How can I convert this BibTeX to the format needed by R for a package CITATION file (I have a lot of other packages needing citations ...). I think what I need is the opposite of RefManageR::toBiblatex [3]. This seems like it should be a common need, so I

c documentation after change
In R 3.4.0 RC, argument list of 'c' as S4 generic function has become (x, ...) . However, "S4 methods" section in documentation of 'c' (c.Rd) is not updated yet. Also, in R 3.4.0 RC, 'c' method of class "Date" ('c.Date') is still not explicitly documented.

wpi driver freeze on boot
I've got a HP dv8000 laptop. Setting up the wpi driver for wireless freezes the system on boot with the following error: wpi0 requested unsupported memory range wpi0: could not allocate memory resource It lists a pcbi device (pcbi4 i think) and an actual memory range, but since I have to reboot using kernel.old the /var/run/dmesg.boot is wiped with the info. Is there anyway to grab the

reading a "sparse" matrix into R
I have a 47k x 47k adjacency matrix that is very sparse (at most 30 entries per row); my textual representation therefore is simply an adjacency list of connections between nodes for each row, e.g. node connections A B C D E B A C D C A E D A E A F F E G H I'd like to import this into a dataframe of node/connection (character/vector-of-characters) pairs. I've experimented with

R package BibTex entries: looking for a more general solution
Back in 2010 I raised this issue, and there was some discussion, https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-devel/2010-November/058987.html The goal, then, as now is to have a way to produce a bibtex-clean .bib file (i.e., not requiring manual editing except in unusual circumstances) reflecting installed packages for use in writing where one often needs/wants to cite all packages used in a given

EL5.1 client problems
Hi all, I attempted to add an EL5.1 client to our puppet server (EL5), and after signing the client cert, got the error "Certificates were not trusted: hostname not match with the server certificate" I found the mailing list discussion and the relevant page: http://www.reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/RubySSL-2007-006 As far as I can tell, my puppermaster''s cert CN matches

beta package for 3D PDF output
Dear All, recent desktop versions of Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader have built-in support for 3D models in PDF. You can take a look at http://www.pdf3d.com/gallery.php for a gallery of professional results achieved with a commercial tool. For an overview of what 3D PDF can be used for I (naturally) suggest the article http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0069446 .

help needed with printing multiple arguments as vectors, not matrices
** I am using the following way to get p-values from fiser exact test. However, I do need to print for each pair the values "n00, n01, n10, n11". How can I print that as a table and not a matrix as below along with the p-value? Any help will be greatly appreciated fish <- function(y, x) {n00 = sum((1-x)*(1-y)); n01 = sum((1-x)*y); n10 = sum(x*(1-y)); n11 = sum(x*y); a =
