Samba documentation team
Hello Samba developers, hello active Samba mailing list supporters, hello * During the last year I (re-)wrote a lot of HowTos and tried to clean up the Wiki in a careful way. But it still contains many outdated, unstructured and hidden content. And in the past weeks we had more and more complaints and questions about missing documentation, first start Howtos, trouble shooting guides, etc.

Speex + Ogg package
sorry, no webchat, is a videoconference program. And I'm using UDP as you can read down on the mail. The problem is that speex packages alone work great, but to split speex/theora packages on the arrive I need to use some kind of container, and I'm trying ogg. Speex + Ogg package
I'm currently working on a speex + theora webchat. I have both working alone, but to make them work together and to know where the package goes, I'm trying to use ogg packages. With theora there has been no problem, but with speex I can't make it work. The problem is that for a second it works great, but then it begings to gain lag, and in a little time it has 5-10 lag seconds (into

Jabber Powered Rails Chatroom
For those who cant access IRC, or just looking for a quick browser based alternative, i started an open jabber powered webchat for rails. Hopefully this will be a nice alternative for people to go to ask questions, get some help, offer some help, etc. I hope the community enjoys it, just trying to give a little back for all the hard work. It can be accessed here http://jabber.dufftech.com

Stateful Webmail
Hello, I'm a developer on the Orbited project (http://www.orbited.org), which provides a TCPSocket interface in javascript (emulated over HTTP using ajax and comet.) This TCPSocket allows true bi-directional communication between a web browser and an arbitrary tcp server. One of the other developers pointed me to a recent dovecot thread about webmail. Sorry for the new thread (I just joined

Combinations
Dear R helpers,   I am working on the scenario analysis pertaining to various interest rates. In this connection I need to form the various combinations as under :   Suppose I have two sets A = (a, b, c) and B = (x,y,z)   Then I can easily form the cominations as (ax, ay, az, bx, by, bz, cx, cy, cz)   However, if I have say 5 variables, then total no of possible combinations will be 3^5 = 243.

Current Script
I want to thank the list and Andy Furniss for helping me get started with TC. Here is my current script with some additional comments. Please note that I can''t really endorse anything below, as I''m new at this. I can tell you that using the monitor_tc_top.pl script, I can see traffic going into all these classes and that my users seem very happy with the results (we are 57

Anti-idle in OpenSSH client?
Heya, Most of the windows ssh clients (putty, securecrt) have anti-idle features. They offer either a null packet or protocol no-op or user defined string to be sent over every x seconds. Is this possible or planned with the OpenSSH client? Our draconian firewall admins have started timing out ssh sessions. Yes I'm aware I could hack up a port forwarding dumb traffic process, but was

Speex + Ogg package
If by webchat you mean anything interactive, then I can already tell you what the problem is. TCP+Ogg. For anything real-time, you want UDP/RTP without Ogg. Also, you need to take into account the fact that computers do *not* have accurate clock and their soundcards drift. None of these problems are fatal, but you need to take that into account in the design. Jean-Marc On Mon, 2006-08-07 at

What options do I have to create OUs and ACLs in Samba4?
I need to create a couple of OUs under Users to separate my internal users from my external users that have LDAP backed accounts so I can put ACLs over the external users so I can limit what they can see on the tree. What options do I have to create the OUs and the ACLs in a Samba4 AD-DC domain?

Samba AD/DC crashed again, third time in as many months
Samba is compiled from source. Samba DB is stored on local RAID array. Changes to AD are done using ADUC from a Windows 7 box. AD is used for authentication, user shares (folder redirection), and shared folders. [GlobalISel][AArch64] Toward flipping the switch for O0: Please give it a try!
Hi, GlobalISel, the SelectionDAG replacement, has come a long way since initially discussed on the mailing list and its last discussion at the EuroLLVM BoF (https://etherpad.net/p/GlobalISel <https://etherpad.net/p/GlobalISel>). We believe we are close to the point of enabling it by default on AArch64 at O0. We now would like to enlist your help to get there. *** Quick Status *** On iOS

formatC slow? (or how can I make this function faster?
I'm trying to convert a matrix of capture occasions to format that an external program can read. The job is to basically take a row of matrix, like > smp[1,] [1] 1 1 0 1 1 1 0 0 0 0 and convert it to the equivalent string "1101110000" I'm having problems doing this in a speedy way. The simplest solution (calc_history below, using apply, paste and collapse) takes about 2

auth*.c
Folks, During testing, we found a couple of issues with openssh3.0.2p1: 1. In userauth_finish() in auth2.c (as well as in do_authloop in auth1.c), the foll. check: if (authctxt->failures++ > AUTH_FAIL_MAX) is never satisfied and thus packet_disconnect() never gets called. I suspect the code just drops out of the dispatch_run function list instead. This should be an == instead of >.
