Problem with ActionWebService and UTF-8 encoding
Hello, I have a Rails App which serve a Soap Web Service with ActionWebService. I accept 2 string parameters that must contain xml. The data sent are in UTF-8, but the non-ascii char (é, à ...) in the message are crippled at the end. I tested the app, database, html, ... all accept utf-8, a direct http post works well, but going through the web service broke the content. I tried to manually set

Download OpenSSH through secure channel?
I am trying to download a version of OpenSSH newer than the one preinstalled with my OS. But sadly I find that I can only download it through *unsecured* plain http/ftp/rsync protocol, vulnerable to attacks by anyone in the network path. It is odd that *the* software about security and encryption across untrusted network is distributed to everyone insecurely and not encrypted. Is there any future

Proxy secured incoming POP3/IMAP4 to unsecure backend?
Hi, I try to set up dovecot as a proxy server, to proxy requests to several dovecot-based backend servers. I wand external clients who connects to this proxy Dovecot to use TLS (this is easy to set up) while want to have unsecured (plain IMAP/POP) connections to backends. You see, links to backends are over LAN so no TLS needed, and these backends are poor old machines (with old Docecots like

Guests can't connect to each other
Hi, I'm using libvirt and qemu on Debian Wheezy. I'm having a strange behavior. Guests can't connect to each other when they're on the same host. On the host I'm using bonding (in active / backup mode) and vlan. It looks like this : eth0 \ / macvtap0 bond0 --- vlan222 eth1 / \ macvtap1 So I've got two guests, let's say A and B. When

STI good or bad for my problem?
Hi. I am currently developing a small course system for student and teachers. The system is divided in sections and sections have many messages, comments, documents and schedules. Pretty easy to set up using ROR, just add some belongs_to and has_many relations. But everything becomes much more complicated when the section items (message, comment and so on...) all has comments. And they can also be

Mitel 5010 +5220
I know this is not strictly an asterisk issue but it is related I guess. Just to let you know that after many calls to Mitel the consensus is that they will be releasing a new version of the 5220 that is dual boot (minet and SIP) next week or the week after. This firmware will only appear on NEW phones manufactured after the release date (no one could confirm but the 23rd of sept was

Samba networking
To whom this may concern, I do apologise first off for contacting your organisation, but I have scoured the internet looking for any answers to the problems I am having with Samba, and nothing even remotely comes close the solution I need. Second apology for my ignorance of Linux. What I'm trying to do, is, I have two computers both with the same Linux distro ([K]Ubuntu), version (9.04),

Openning samba server to the Internet
Hello, I'm running samba on a Linux server. I want to login to that samba share from another computer not located in that specific network. I want to be able to "open" my samba server so everyone will be able to login to it. I'll secure this unsecured option using Firewall, restricting those specific ports only for the IP I would like to login from. What's

Proxy secured incoming POP3/IMAP4 to unsecure backend?
The port is determined with port=nnn setting. You can't return per-protocol port like that, you need to look at the protocol requested by user and return port based on that, or you can omit port to default into "standard port". not using ssl/starttls is default. > On 17 September 2018 at 16:35 Alexander Chekalin <alexander.chekalin at gmail.com> wrote: > > >

v1.1 status and benchmarks
v1.1 plans have changed a bit. I'll release v1.1.alpha1 soon and hope to have a stable v1.1 in a month or two. The rest of the features that didn't make it into v1.1 will go to v1.2. I'll write more about this when v1.1 alpha is released. I also did a bit of benchmarking. v1.1's performance improvements are looking pretty great, it seems to be twice as fast as v1.0. v1.0:

Help on CRAM-MD5
Howdy, I'm using dovecot and mysql users, and i'm creating the password with: ENCRYPT('some-passwd',CONCAT('$6$', SUBSTRING(SHA(RAND()), -16))) So far so good, everything's fine. Today saw that i didn't enabled CRAM-MD5, but if I do, and the (at least) IMAP client (roundcube/thunderbird/etc) issues CRAM-MD5 it doesn't authenticate. What am i doing wrong, or

rsync errors
Ah... there's your answer. ssh is working fine, as you say, but you're invoking rsync without telling it to user ssh, so it's using rsh. If you've got this, you don't need rsyncd.conf. The syntax you're using tells rsync to use an external transport. rsync -e ssh file rmt_host:/tmp Tim Conway tim.conway@philips.com 303.682.4917 Philips Semiconductor - Longmont TC 1880
