file name starting with [0-9]* not synchronized (!?)
Hi,
I'm trying to backup a remote directory. Although the remote directory
hasn't been changed after rsync's run, I realize that the supposed
synchronization missed some files. Does it have to do with rsync or I
miss something ?
Thanks very much,
Mihai.

Probelms with patching EXT-3
Hello anybody,
I have a Suse 7.2 Linux with Kernel 2.4.9, which is compiled by myself,
and is running stable.
Now I try to patch my sourcecode in the way you write on your homepage.
But thier are two Proglems:
1. When I download the the file "ext3-2.4-0.9.6-249.gz" with my Windows,
I get no packedfile, I get a Textfile?!
-so gunzip would not work.
2. never the less, I tried to patch

Ess packages for Suse-9.2 available ?
Hi,
I've just managed to install R on Suse-9.2. Unfortunately there seem to
be no Ess packages in Suse distri available. Doesn't seem like that Suse
is ever to integrate these packages (since 2000)!?
Are there any precompiled binaries around? So far I haven't been lucky
to find any of them on rpmfind and similar sites.
Maybe someone has already Ess binary for Suse-9.2 and is willing

How To change server recovery timeout
Hi,
Our lustre environment is:
2.6.9-55.0.9.EL_lustre.1.6.3smp
I would like to change recovery timeout from default value 250s to
something longer
I tried example from manual:
set_timeout <secs> Sets the timeout (obd_timeout) for a server
to wait before failing recovery.
We performed that experiment on our test lustre installation with one
OST.

[Asterisk-Dev] Cluecon - Who's going ?
I'm relatively new to Asterisk and I'm hoping attending Cluecon will be
a good way to get up to speed on the project and hear about what others
are doing with it.
We currently use a Cisco IP phone system at my office, although I just
added an asterisk box to provide soft phones to our travelling users.
(IAX2 is a lot easier to get through firewalls than cisco's protocols).

auth-worker: Error: double free or corruption (fasttop)
Dear list,
since the distri upgrade to glibc 2.28, i can't build working dovecot
binary's.
Older with glibc 2.27 are working. The distri is LFS based.
MariaDB 10.2.18 and 10.3.11 makes no difference. Having this on
different systems.

qla2xxx driver failed in dom0 - invalid opcode: 0000 [1] SMP
I wanted to post this in case there is a real bug here.
The system this is on is running Debian Etch with the Xen packages from
Debian Unstable (currently 3.0.2+hg9697-1). I am running all packaged
software so this is probably slightly out of date.
This is on an HP DL320 G4 with a Pentium D 930 processor. I tried unloading
and reloading the qla2xxx module, but rmmod reported it in use, however

It would be interesting to see if this can be repro''ed on a tree built
from a recent xen-unstable.hg.

The PCI devices I am trying to dedicate are QLogic 23xx cards!
I am using SUSE 10.1 with latest xen-unstable!

[PATCH] virtio-blk: make the queue depth the max supportable by the hypervisor
The current virtio block sets a queue depth of 64, which is
insufficient for very fast devices. It has been demonstrated that
with a high IOPS device, using a queue depth of 256 can double the
IOPS which can be sustained.
As suggested by Venkatash Srinivas, set the queue depth by default to
be one half the the device's virtqueue, which is the maximum queue
depth that can be supported by the
