I have 2 new boxes that I cannot use yet because of problems supporting these newer chipsets in 5.1. Does anyone know when the CD version of 5.0 x86-64 that has support for these chipsets be available on any on a Centos mirror? Has the support for these chipsets been added to yum yet? A small howto: 1) add pci network card 2) install with "linux all-generic-ide pci=nommconf" 3) update to the latest distro kernel 2.6.9-42.0.3 4) get http://heanet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/e1000/e1000-7.3.20.tar.gz 5) do have kernel-headers, rpmbuild ... etc. 6) rpmbuild -ta

What about the Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard? It has 7 SATA ports, supports ECC memory, socket AM2, generally looks very attractive for my home storage server. Except that it, and the nvidia nForce 570-SLI it''s built on, don''t seem to be on the HCL. I''m hoping that''s just "yet", not reported yet. Anybody run Solaris on it? Or at least on any

I have a nice new 965 chipset mobo with core 2 duo cpu. I was wondering if anyone has any experiences with this chipset and CPU with 4.4 ? Does the jmicron sata/pata interface work ? Are both cores recongnized with the right kernel ? Does EIST work ? Or should I wait for Centos 5 ? Cheers, Brian.

Hi list I am installing a couple IBM System x3650. IBM Support advises to put "pci=nommconf" and "nophet" at installation prompt and later in grub.conf. But what those parameters do?
