Red Alarm TE110P
Hi! I'm trying to setup a Wildcard TE110P with a PRI in The Netherlands. I get a Red Alarm on the line. Is there any way of debugging this? I've tried some configs that should work but without success. Is there any way of telling if the cabling is correct or what else the problem could be? Thanks!! Remco

Best Asterisk Platform
What is the best asterisk platform to use? What are you guys using? I am looking for something to host either in our data center or at the customer prem where I have the control over the unit and not through a contractor. I dont mind paying a license fee for a front end interface but still would rather not have to pay. Thanks, --Eric -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment

T-1 vs channelised T-1?
OK. Now I show my ignorance. What's the difference between a T-1 and a channelised T-1? I see that Covad's voip service (formerly GoBeam) requires a channelised T-1. Then I read recently on the list that many T-1s being installed are actually HDSL....which would be not a T-1 at all...right? Michael -- Michael Graves mgraves@pixelpower.com Sr. Product Specialist

traffic shaping , where?
Hi I would want to use the patch for squid released by patrick mcHardy, but it requires that squid is located on the same machine that does traffic shaping. My configuration is different: i have the screening HDSL router directly connected to a multi-ethernet firewall and the proxy located on a DMZ box. i would want the firewall doing traffic shaping. Centos to use two ISP concurrently..?
Hi all, I'm currently getting my Centos working as a proxy (squid) on a 2 Mb bandwidth plan that's serving 20 users. it's all good though our need for speed is increasing by the day. soon enough i'll be serving up to 60 user, hence the need to get higher bandwidth though here where the problem is. as i'm using HDSL, 2 Mb is the highest plan available. hence, i need

Masq errors?
Hi all, I have a problem with a new Shorewall box I''m trying to migrate from iptables rules to shorewall 2.2.0. I have a 3 interfaces setup: - eth0 ---> internet (ip address) - eth1 ---> remote office (10.0.0.0/8) - eth2 ---> lan (192.168.16.0/24) I''m using a very simple and common setup, with just a few DNAT rules in my /etc/shorewall/rules file, and about twenty

Should I choose DSL @ 1.5 or a full T1?
I'm looking to expand my bandwidth for my Asterisk PBX. Why should I choose a T1 over DSL for my asterisk server? I found someone offering T1's for $290 a month + Loops or 3 Meg for $561 a month + Loops. Is this a good deal? Thanks Bart -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... OT: DSL without voice
A lot of people are going for the "VOIP only" approach, but SBC says you have to have an active analog voice circuit before they will sell you DSL. Does anybody know which DSL providers will sell you DSL without making you pay for a voice circuit? Thanks in advance, ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Steve Edwards sedwards@sedwards.com

Custom PHP for Call Files
I am hoping to get some help here with building custom PHP to manage a 'wake up call' system. I have the script where the user can set the schedule for an extension wake up call. It appears to write to the /var/spool/asterisk/outgoing/ directory. My two issues: 1 - when the files do get moved over to outgoing/ directory via a cron job, the permissions show "-rw-r--r-- 1 apache

Connecting Siemens HiCom PBX with Asterisk through E1
Hi I've bought the Wildcard TE110 some days ago but I'm unable to get it to work with Siemens HiCom 300. I've tried this so far: 1. I've used standard cat5 cable cut off on one edge and twisted wires 1 to 4 and 2 to 3 which is according to cisco a short circuit for E1 lines. Wildcard takes a few seconds and sets the link to green (OK). 2. I've tried to connect our running

[OT] VPN/DMZ best practices
There is such a wealth of knowledge and personal experience on this list that I'd like to get your opinions on our current situation. Currently, we have a simple tri-homed firewall with the internal network on one interface, the dmz on another, and the dirty internet on the last. Also, there is a spare interface on the box which is unused. We use CentOS and manually maintain our rule sets

Best Asterisk Platform
I don't think the original poster was asking about which OS is best. I think he was asking which PBX manager people are using. Ex, PBX in a Flash, Elastix, FreePBX, blah, blah, blah. geo-replication loops
Hi, I was thinking about a common (I hope!) use case of Glusterfs geo-replication. Imagine 3 different facility having their own glusterfs deployment: * central-office * remote-office1 * remote-office2 Every client mount their local glusterfs deployment and write files (i.e.: user A deposit a PDF document on remote-office2), and it get replicated to the central-office glusterfs volume as soon
