script.aculo.us AutoComplete Woes
I was wondering if someone could help me with an autocomplete problem. I have the autocomplete div receiving a <UL> that looks like: <ul> <li>Name<br>Email</li> </ul> When the user hits enter and the value is filled into the text field it''s putting both the name and email in the field. I just want the name. Funny this works in Firefox but not IE. I

Heya, I''ve just released script.aculo.us V1.5_pre1. Please give it a try! Important new stuff (since V1.1b1): * Added a main scriptaculous.js file to load in the other libraries transparently. * Fixed a condition where standard a href=xxx links wouldn''t work in autocomplete results. These do now, the onclick event is not cancelled. [thx to Jasper Slits] * Added

Ajax.InPlaceEditor: controls.js update
I''m not sure if this is a bug or not, but I had to patch controls.js file to accommodate the idea that I had planned. I had to combine Ajax.InplaceEditor and AutoCompleter for a "tagging" feature at my office. With the autocompleter, I need to target an INPUT FIELD by ID. However the generated INPUT field from the Ajax.InPlaceEditor did not include this attribute in

Autocompleter - up arrow moves cursor to start of input box
When using the autocompleter and scrolling through options, if you press the up arrow key the input field cursor moves backward. Some of my users have reported that they find this very distracting. Does anyone know why this happens, or where in the code I could fix it? Steps to recreate: 1. Go to http://demo.script.aculo.us/ajax/autocompleter 2. Type in a letter (or two or three) 3. Arrow down

Using AutoComplete(script.aculo.us) with DB-Query
Hi, I''m using AutoComplete from script.aculo.us and want to combine this with a call to a database. Is there any work done so far or do I have to implement all on my own. The only thing I have seen is using results from a file on the server. But that is not very handy. Some words to my background. I''m programming for a project at my university. Our aim is to combine the

Has anyone extended the Autocompleter to do multiple auto-completes in a single input field? I''m looking to achieve similar functionality to the del.icio.us <http://del.icio.us> post page which allows multiple auto-completes of tag names in the tags input field. cheers, Rob -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Prototype 1.4.0_pre4 + script.aculo.us 1.5_pre4?
Hello, I''m maintaining the PEAR-installable PHP packages for both script.aculo.us and Prototype on Pearified.com. I saw the 1.5_pre4 release of script.aculo.us yesterday, and would like to release the update on Pearified.com, but don''t want to release hacked versions of Prototype. I saw that Prototype was updated to 1.4.0_pre4 yesterday as well ... Is that a suitable package

Autocomplete GetToken??
Hi, I needing to modify the control.js file and am confused about what the purpose of the getToken function is. I read the docs section below and still don''t understand why it doesn''t just access the form.value directly. Docs say: This method should get the text for which to provide autocompletion by invoking this.getToken(), NOT by directly accessing this.element.value. This is

IE iframe bug with Autocompleter over HTTPS
I ran across an issues using the Autocompleter over HTTPS in IE (6.0 in WinXP Pro SP2). I plan to submit a bug report to the Ruby on Rails trac, but first I''d like "to discuss this on th[is] Mailing List beforehand, maybe it''s already known and in the works, or it isn''t a bug" (per http://wiki.script.aculo.us/scriptaculous/show/BugReports) The autocomplete

Ajax.Autocompleter
I have been working with the Ajax.Autocompleter for about a day so forgive my ignorance. Is there any value in adding additional callbacks. I want perform an action when the user selects a choice. So I was thinking of adding an option {select: function(selectedElement) {}} similar to the callbacks on Ajax.Request in the prototype library. Call me out if you think I am crazy my feelings

A more fancy autocomplete using scriptaculous and ajax
I want to create an autocomplete text field that when you type in (some of) a users name, it pops up the portrait image associated to that user on the left hand side, which can then be dragged away in to a Sortable.Droppable element adding that member to your team... I can get the results to display, but not where I want them. They are always in a list below the textbox. 1) possible? 2) Do the

Konqueror compatibility
Thomas, currently the script.aculo.us scripts have some workarounds for Safari that should be extended to more generally cover all khtml-based browsers, Konqueror in particular. In prototype.js, there is a workaround for an addEventListener bug that affects Konqueror as well as Safari, controls.js has a similar workaround, and the special case in dragdrop.js doesn''t hurt anyway. Changing the prototype.js from 1.5.0 to 1.6.0.2 causes error in javascript code.
Hi, I am a new member of this group. We are using autocomplete box from "script.aculo.us". It uses the prototype.js file. We are creating the auto completer dynamically in a table. Our code was working on FireFox(FF) but was giving error on InternetExplorer(IE). So we upgraded the prototype.js file today from version 1.5.0 to 1.6.0.2. Only this particular change was done. When we

Docs for print or in the distribution zip?
Hi, Are there any plans to "export" the documentation from time to time(e.g. at releases) from the WIKI in an "offline" form to be usable as printed, and/or to be distributed with into scriptaculous-js-1.x.x.zip ? It is very uncomfortable that the ZIP distribution contains practically no documentation :(. Most of the WIKIs have such export function (many of them even export
