Has anyone extended the Autocompleter to do multiple auto-completes in a single input field? I''m looking to achieve similar functionality to the del.icio.us <http://del.icio.us> post page which allows multiple auto-completes of tag names in the tags input field. cheers, Rob -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... [Rails-spinoffs] Autocompleter handling multiple completes
http://wiki.script.aculo.us/scriptaculous/show/Autocompleter.Base Specifically, take a look at the docs for ''Tokenized autocompletion'' at the bottom of that page. Think that should do what you want. Hope that helps. -- R.Livsey http://livsey.org Rob . wrote:> Has anyone extended the Autocompleter to do multiple auto-completes in > a single input field? Here is the functional tests page for scriptaculous (you can run it locally too, by getting the SVN trunk): http://script.aculo.us/__trunk_test/test/run_functional_tests.html An example for tokenized autocompletion is included in ajax_autocompleter2_test Thomas Am 16.09.2005 um 18:11 schrieb Rob .:> Brilliant. [Rails-spinoffs] Autocompleter handling multiple completes
Thanks for this Thomas. It is great. Just one suggestion: If instead of the user putting a comma (,) everytime the autocomplete update itself introduces a comma, then the user can just keep typing without actually bothering to take his mouse to the box and putting a comma. Thanks, Mandy. -----Original Message----- From: rails-spinoffs-bounces@lists.rubyonrails.org [mailto:rails-spinoffs-bounces@lists.rubyonrails.org]On Behalf Of Thomas Fuchs Sent: Saturday, September 17, 2005 2:41 PM To: rob.02004@gmail.com; rails-spinoffs@lists.rubyonrails.org Subject: Re: [Rails-spinoffs] Autocompleter handling multiple completes Here is the functional tests page for scriptaculous (you can run it locally too, by getting the SVN trunk): http://script.aculo.us/__trunk_test/test/run_functional_tests.html An example for tokenized autocompletion is included in ajax_autocompleter2_test Thomas Am 16.09.2005 um 18:11 schrieb Rob .: Brilliant.
