Getting my schema straightened out
I''m trying to map Rails to an existing schema, and having a bit of a time of it. I''ve got a table Content, and I''ve got a table Review, which is a type of content. So content has an ''id'' field, and Review has a ''contentid'' field. Not all Content has a Review, but all Reviews have exactly one Content. How do I represent this?

Possible problems with EventLog#write
Hi, I''ve got EventLog#write and EventLog.add_event_source methods done. Well, I *think* they''re done, but I can''t get the data (text) to work properly, and I''m not sure if it''s a bug in my .mc file, the add_event_source method, the write method, or just a goof in my test file. The source, category and event id seem to be ok. However, the

Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8
Bouncing a thread from the device drivers list: http://opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=357176 Does anybody know if OpenSolaris will support this new Supermicro card, based on the Marvell 88SE6480 chipset? It''s a true PCI Express 8 port JBOD SAS/SATA controller with pricing apparently around $125. If it works with OpenSolaris it sounds pretty much perfect. --------------

Sun 6120 array again
Greetings, Last April, in this discussion... http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=143517 ...we never found out how (or if) the Sun 6120 (T4) array can be configured to ignore cache flush (sync-cache) requests from hosts. We''re about to reconfigure a 6120 here for use with ZFS (S10U4), and the evil tuneable zfs_nocacheflush is not going to serve us well (there is a ZFS

Import zpool from FreeBSD in OpenSolaris
I want to import my zpool''s from FreeBSD 8.0 in OpenSolaris 2009.06. After reading the few posts (links below) I was able to find on the subject, it seems like it there is a differences between FreeBSD and Solaris. FreeBSD operates on directly on the disk and Solaris creates a partion and uses that... is that right? Is it impossible for OpenSolaris to use zpool''s from FreeBSD?

ZFS and Virtualization

When the zpool is located on a lun sliced from a raid group shared by multiple systems the capability of doing i/o from this zpool will be limited. Avoiding or limiting i/o to

RFE: ISCSI alias when shareiscsi=on
Starting from this thread: http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=118786&#118786 I would love to have the possibility to set an ISCSI alias when doing an shareiscsi=on on ZFS. This will greatly facilate to identify where an IQN is hosted. the ISCSI alias is defined in rfc 3721 e.g. http://www.apps.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3721.html#sec-2 and the CLI could be something like: zfs set

Plans for eventlog and service - feedback wanted
Hi all, I''ve almost got win32-eventlog 0.3.0 ready to go. There are some minor tweaks to the API, but everything is still backwards compatable. But, what I really want to discuss is setting up a default event source for Ruby. Here''s what I''m thinking - offer the option of installing a "RubyMsg" event source when you install win32-eventlog. The name
