Hi, I installed two linux VMs in XenServer 6.0, one is CentOS 5.5 and the other is Ubuntu 10.04, both of which are HVMs. I install xenserver tools many times and the packages are installed, but XenCenter keeps telling me that "Xenserver tools is not installed". One of the cluster nodes (XS 5.6 SP2/not master) became unresponsive to XAPI calls being sent from a CloudStack management server. In the past, a simple xe-toolstack-restart would do the trick but the script timed out while restarting the XAPI daemon. One of the issues I''ve had using XenServer in a multitenant environment is the requirement for the VMs to have xentools installed as it causes significant issues when upgrading the VM OS or the pool from one version of XenServer (XCP) to another. Having to touch hundreds VMs (by hand) after an upgrade just doesn''t scale nor is delegating the task to VM owners an option.

Rowland, you are correct. I remember now. When we started using XenServer, Wheezy would not work under it. This is a Squeeze installation, not Wheezy. Will Samba no longer work with Squeeze?
