[fdo] Create a freedesktop directory my own personal way
Let's say I'd like to create a directory for urgent stuff I need to deal with. I'd put this line on ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs: XDGURGENTDIR=?\$HOME/Urgent? Right? But now, how do I assign a custom icon to it? I know I can just change the icon for any folder or file under properties, but that's not what I want! I'd like to do it "the right way". Using gnome, by

[fdo] Authenticating/verifying freedesktop projects source
Hi, I would like to recompile a version of ModemManager supporting the Voice interface. That is why I have to use the source code from the master branch and not the 1.4 version. This also requires me to download libqmi from a repository, because 1.12 is too old for this. How do I verify the source? Unfortunately: - nor git commits, nor tags seem to be signed, - HTTPS-accessible source

[fdo] Ssh service interruption of freedesktop.org
Hi admins, thank you for maintaining useful development resources. But I'm in trouble. Please help. I and some developers are unable to use ssh login over 24 hours. Is there a intended service interruption? Or some problems are lying? I and some developers could slogin to freedesktop.org before the problem had occurred. My local environment has not altered in recent days. my source address:

[fdo] Freedesktop sdk aka 'tiny base runtime' project
Hi all, So i wanted to kick off this mailing list by trying to round up a few things which have been discussed recently, at GUADEC, in f2f conversations afterwards, or shot over emails between a few people. It's been discussed for a while that we want to create a tiny base runtime with bst. The upshot is this will homogenize the metadata used in the build process for Flatpak, GNOME

TE410P timing and multiple, different spans
Greetings... I have a TE410P with four T1's going into it. Things look roughly like this: #1 Goes to PBX -- we're responsible for timing #2 E&M span to telco 1 #3 PRI span to telco 1 #4 PRI span to telco 2 If I set primary sync source to span 2, users report strange echo, distortion, and crosstalk problems, which sound remarkably like frame slippage on spans 3 and 4. If I set

John, Thanks for the reply! You mentioned output sample rates should be 44100 or 48000, should I worry about input (Mic) Sample rates as well? (Currently I was requesting the sample rate on both ends to be 16000 samplesPerSecond, for ease of passing into the codec) Also, do you recommend any particular resampler that I should use, or are any of the ones out there probably okay, or should

I don't know about the input side; I have personally only experienced being bitten by the output resampler. But it seems like a safe assumption that yes, the input side is equally broken. Any resampling code found on the 'net should be suitable as long as it sounds good, doesn't take too much CPU, and is compatible with your product's licensing/distribution terms. There are

Proper way to call variables from a parent class to a child class
I currently have a child class of a parent one. The parent defines some variable that I need to use in the child class. I am also using gepetto. Gepetto is complaining about the syntax of the child variable. It is saying that "$parentVar" should be "$::parentVar" however, when changing to what Gepetto wants to use this breaks my classes. Does anyone know the proper

I''m trying to figure out how to design a view and controller to work with a simple collection. [fdo] PSA: Mailman changes, From addresses no longer accurate
Hi all, We have hit another step change in aggressive anti-spam techniques from major mail providers. Over the past few days, we saw a huge spike in the number of mails we were failing to deliver to GMail and outlook.com in particular. It looks like it is now no longer acceptable for us to break DMARC/DKIM/SPF. These are DNS-based extensions to SMTP, which allow domains to publish policies as to
