Firewall ports with v 3.5.2 grumble time
Hi,
I have a requirement to run my gluster hosts within a firewalled section of network and where the consumer hosts are in a different segment due to IP address preservation, part of our security policy requires that we run local firewalls on every host so I have to get the network access locked down appropriately.
I am running 3.5.2 using the packages provided in the Gluster package repository

grumble/gripe ... fifo: read fault ... channel 12 killed! (eternal freeze-frame)
Twice now with v4.15-rc6, my display has gone belly up.
Note: swiotlb: suppress warning when __GFP_NOWARN is set v2 is applied,
but I don't _think_ it was the first time it happened.

IAX Inbound Sound Quality
I have a couple of DID's through VP Connect and have been having sound
quality issues on incoming calls. During the call, the calling parties
voice sometimes sound like it is crackling, in other words it is not
very crisp. I would liken it to listening to a radio with a blown
speaker. This sound defect comes and goes throughout the call. The
other person is always audible but it just isn't

How to create distortion, echo, and chopping sound in a SIP trunk?
Hi everyone,
How can I introduce some distortion, echo, chopping sound and all other bad
quality things that can happen to a SIP trunk? I have plenty of bandwidth
and crisp clear lines so the only thing that I can think of is to limit
bandwidth but even that requires quite some scripting work.
Is there any easy way to simulate a distorted SIP line temporarily for
testing?

ready to toss the towel | lapack and 2.9.0
Well, I've now tried just about every permutation I can think of -
including using the ATLAS lapack (instead of generic), in various
combinations with ACML, or generic BLAS, or ATLAS blas. No matter what I
do, so long as I have lapack of any flavour, I get the 'stats error'
with make check. And, it always seems to throw the error at the same
point in the stats test file (an svd in

openssh stack corruption in arc4random_stir () on OS X
Howdy.
I'm trying to get OpenSSH to work on Mac OS X which is basically BSD unix.
I'm getting segfaults connecting to SSH1 servers (I have no SSH2 servers to
test against so I'm not sure if it's common).
I've followed the instructions on compiling at
http://www.stepwise.com/Articles/Workbench/2001-03-21.01.html
which essentially amount to
./configure

I'm FED UP with BroadVoice
After months of BroadVoice ignoring my trouble tickets for dropped calls,
delayed termination, etc., I'm throwing in the towel. While they have
credited $19.95 to my account, they refuse to credit anything more, despite
ALL of the problems I've had. I feel the least they could do is credit the
remaining $8.61 to my account, yet they won't.
I haven't really been following up on

I/O size distribution?
Hello
I have read that under Solaris one can use DTrace to get I/O request
size distribution on a global scale (also on a per process/pid basis).
See for example
http://prefetch.net/articles/observeiodtk.html
Can anyone?recommend?an alternative to get similar information under
CentOS? I looked into dtrace for linux but it seems still work in
progress, even putting aside CDDL issues ...

[LLVMdev] missing llabs define in VS: DAGCombiner.cpp
grumble, grumble, MS does not have llabs()
llabs() is not defined in Visual Studio, however, _abs64() is. But if I switch to
_abs64() the linker does not resolve __abs64(). I thought _abs64() was suppose
to be in the CRT library. Any hints for a solution?

OT: DOE - experiments for teaching
Hi,
I'm sorry for this not being related to R but I think this is a good
place to ask. I'm looking for DOE examples(experiments) that can be done
at home or in class, such as Paper Helicopter, Paper Towel etc.. I'm
thankful for any comment.

Python 2 compatibility for utility scripts
At the beginning of the year, I've landed a large set of patches to support
both Python 2 and Python3 in most Python scripts. Looks like I missed some
of them :-)
At that time, backward portability with Python2 was still relevant, and I
suspect it will still be the case for a few distributions that ship Python2
by default. That being said, Even RHEL8 uses Python3 by default, so at some
