RMySQL and stored procedures
Hi,
I use RMySQL to connect to MySQL server where I have a couple of stored
procedures.
I know that the function for the stored procedures "is not yet
implemented", but I was trying to
get around the problem connecting like that:
drv <- dbDriver("MySQL")
con <- dbConnect(drv,user=MyUser, password=MyPasswd, dbname=MyDBName,
host=MyHost, client.flag="196608"

Mysql stored procedures from Rails
Hi all,
I know stored procedures are considered evil around, but there are times
when you just have to use them. In the project I''m working on, I needed
to call a mysql5 stored procedure, but I only got an error message
saying "ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid: Mysql::Error: PROCEDURE
vc.testsp can''t return a result set in the given context: call testsp()"
I found out

Lack of support of Stored Procedures is a Show Stopper
In my opinion most mature/complex client/server or n-tier applications
using SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL, use stored procedures.
Without support (except by use of the execute method) for Stored
Procedures, Ruby on Rails or MonoRail is a Show Stopper. We are unable
to effectively use Ruby On Rails as all access to the db is using Stored
Procedures.
This does not mean that we are unable to use

Hello all.
I am trying to use app_mysql.
It works for selects and functions, but does not want to work with

Result:

Check out the Ruby on Rails page on my web site at:

I''ve included my procedure for installing Ruby on Rails in Linux Mint

Ubuntu-based Linux distros for developing Ruby on Rails applications.

Rails MySQL Stored Procedure Fun
Hi All.
I have a question about calling MySQL stored procedures that is a little
different from the usual.
I know stored procedures are not really the ''Rails way'' but in this case
there is no other way to accomplish the same task and I have used them
successfully.
Background:
I am using a query to produce a real-time status of items flowing
through a factory.
The query

Whitehead's group sequential procedures
Dear List,
I would like to know if there exist some R implementation of John
Whitehead's procedures for the planning and analysis of group sequential
clinical trials. His book is enlightenig but somewhat frustrating : it
has a good basic exposition of his framework, but the technical details
are sparse, and leave much work to do when one plans to reuimplement
part of the procedures. For

Equivalence of TSQL Stored Proc and User defined functions
RoR Equivalence of TSQL Stored Procedures and User defined functions
As I browsed through the tutorials and online eBook ?Programming Ruby?,
I have not come across the terms ?Stored Procedures? or ?User-defined
functions? as I know them in SQL 2000.
However, the online documentations in MySQL 5.0 show that Stored
Procedures and User-defined functions are supported in MySQL 5.0.
I wonder what

[LLVMdev] How to handle nested procedures?
How would following Pascal code be translated to LLVM?
procedure outer(a: integer): integer;
procedure inner(b: integer): integer;
begin
return a + b
end;
begin
return inner(a)
end;
If outer(10) is called, it returns 20.
The problem here is that inner has access to the locals and formal
arguments of outer. I do not see any direct support for this. It could

question: DLL or EXE from R procedures
Hi,
I wonder if it is possible to create an DLL or EXE file performing R procedures. Instead of running R, reading data and calling some procedures, I would like to use R functions in the following way: "C:\linearRegression.exe data.txt" which would produce let's say file "output.txt" with the results. Is there some way how to do it?
Thanks a lot. Pavel Vanecek
