'redirect_to' taking infinite loop.
Hi,
The following controller method taking me into infinite loop. Once the
update action completes I want to reload the ''index'' page. May I know
why it is going into infinite loop?
def update
Device.find_by_id( params[:device_id] ).driver = (
params[:driver_id] == 0 ) ? nil : Driver.find_by_id( params[:driver_id]
)
redirect_to :action => :index, :tab =>

why can't johnny download?
I''m working on an app that includes the feature to allow user to
download a csv file of their data.
I''ve got it working on my local machine, but when I deploy it, the link
I''m making doesn''t work for doing the download. The file IS being
created in the location I''m intending, but the file download only works
on my local machine and not on the server.

Thanks Dimitris!!! That's much clearer now. Still have a lot of work to
do this weekend to understand every bit but your code will prove very
useful.
Cheers,
Aziz

Maximum likelihood estimate of bivariate vonmises-weibull distribution
Hi,
I'm dealing with wind data and I'd like to model their distribution in
order to simulate data to fill-in missing values. Wind direction are
typically following a vonmises distribution and wind speeds follow a
weibull distribution. I'd like to build a joint distribution of
directions and speeds as a VonMises-Weibull bivariate distribution.
First is this a stupid question? I'm

Nash equilibrium and other game theory tools implemented in networks using igraph or similar
Does anyone know of some code, and examples that implement game theory/Nash
equilibrium hypothesis testing using existing packages like igraph/statnet
or similar?
Perhaps along the lines of this article:

Equilibrium in Social Networks, *4*, 6224.

[as.POSIXlt]: Incorrect conversion only for some specific date/time (PR#8654)
Full_Name: Aziz Chaouch
Version: 2.2.1
OS: XP/2000
Submission from: (NULL) (132.156.89.240)
Hi,
I'm not sure this is a "bug" but here is the problem:
I'm using the function as.POSIXlt to convert character strings into time
objects. I'm using date format as "YYYY/M/D HH:MM" such as as.POSIXlt("1999/6/7
13:30"). Most of the time, this works fine. However

Help please..
Hello R-world,
I am facing a peculiar problem and hope someone out there
can comment on it.
In goodness-of-fit tests for evaluation of distributions,
there are three well-known methods:
1. Chi-square
2. Anderson-Darling
3. Kolmogorov-Sminrov
I am trying to use the second test. Many researchers have
reported results using this test. I wrote programs in C and
now in R to do this. I run into

Computing a reliability index of a statistic with missing data
Hi All,
I'd like to compute a kind of reliability index (RI) that would in a
sense stand as a measure of reliability of a statistic (histogram etc)
computed on a time serie with missing values. The final goal is that:
RI=1 for a perfect reliability
RI=0 for a total unreliability (no data at all as an extreme case...)
The percentage of missing data is one indication: the more missing data,

I am new to R, this may be simple.
I want to store directory path as parameter which in turn to be used while

How I can use dir defined in the below mentioned example while reading the
