very frequently, I get the following error:
"THERE ARE NO LOGON SERVERS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE TO SERVICE YOUR
REQUEST"

Have you taken a network trace? There isn't anything I can see specifically wrong with your smb.conf, so I suspect local network issues are the likely cause, so I suggest investigating with a packet analyser like Wireshark. Do you have more than one domain controller? Is this just after rebooting a PC?
