[PATCH] Fix a typo in colour loading
I've started working my way through Quinn Storms differential, hopefully
we can pull some of this stuff upstream.
This one seems like a nice place to start.

ChangeLog:
* plugins/gconf.c (gconfGetValue): Fix typo that caused color
parsing to be incomplete.

Latest switcher patches, bugfix.
I've attatched a patch to fix a bug in the latest switcher patches that
got put into CVS. Basically, window order with minimized windows is
undefined, and this fixes it.
Also, I notice that in some cases switcher fails to get an icon for a
window. Perhaps the icon code is forcing a search for a specific size,
rather than 'best-fit'?
Also, the patch allows usage of alt+shift+tab (in

more cubes and 3d metaphoric objects...
hi
how about having more cubes to fly around in 3d space.
though at first thought this might appear unessacary as who needs so many
desktops?
So i thought, why not have special cubes (as well as the original cube of
course) and these special cubes, instead of cubes, be 3d metaphric objects
for specific tasks
such as a radio, or ipod or whatever for music
a cinema for movies

Interested in testing the upcoming 0.9.x branch? Help us with some testing!
Hi everyone,
If people have the time, can they test the master branch of compiz
(upcoming 0.9.x) and fill out this form (hopefully included in the email!)
to let me know of any bugs? Thanks a billion!
You don't have to fill out all the questions in this questionnaire - I
would understand if you are limited by time. You also don't need to tell me
anything you don't want to

Fw: patch for colored drop-shadow
I just realized this message went to the wrong place. I meant to send
this to the list.
Also, I want to clarify, I don't intend to offend or upset anyone,
obviously I love the work that is happening on compiz, I am merely
trying to help.

Compiling Compiz
I have downloaded compiz-0.2.0 and tried to compile it. The INSTALL file talks about autgen.sh, but I am unable to
locate it. I tried ./configure but it complains about a number of missing packages. Is there any docs on how to compile
compiz on SLED 10 ? I have searched in a lot of places, but have not been able to dig up anything. A detailed list of
what packages is required (and where to locate

Beryl and Compiz Merge: What's actually going on?
Compiz and Beryl merge: What's really going on?
Recently Quinns post to the beryl-dev mailing list entitled 'Merge on'
has led to a lot of discussion, some of which has been good and some
of which has led to a lot of misinformation, to clear things up I'd
like to give the story of the merge, and the justification for some of
the more peculiar aspects. Basically lets try to avoid

Discussion about Compiz and working togeher
I would like to get a better understanding as to why
Quinn's patches have not been accepted into the compiz
git tree.
I feel Quinn's patches could greatly improve compiz.
She has made quite a lot of progress wrt to enhancing
compiz with her cgwd window decorator which allows
users to write their own themes for window
decorations.
Also, many of the plugins that are in compiz.net are

Misc WM buglets
Switching viewports/desktops/cube faces seems to mess up the stacking
order - Quinn Storm says the visible stacking order isn't reflected
somewhere else.
Bottommost windows don't seem to work right - not sure if this is a bug
in compiz or gimmie but Gimmies button bar never drops below maximized
windows and it does in Metacity. Will investigate when I get a chance.
thanks -mike

New Action system
It seems, and I might just have a weird system, but I doubt it, that
the new Action system in compiz git head is a bit weird. On a clean
install, not only do options like "resize_initiate_bell" show up in
gconf, but the actual action binding options don't work. For example I
can't set resize_initiate_button to anything but its default (the key
changes in gconf, but resize

Compiz and Beryl are Reuniting
After several weeks of discussion the leaders of Compiz and Beryl have agreed
that the two communities shall reunite. This decision is supported by both
David and Quinn and represents the majority decision of the administrators
and developers in each community. At this early stage not a lot has been
decided, but these are the main points of the agreement:
- As had previously been decided,

Aquamarine: The KDE Window Decorator

I have added compiz support to aquamarine.
You can download it directly from beryl svn:

To install:
./autogen.sh
./configure --enable-debug=full
./make
./sudo make install
You can use kcontrol to set the decoration and decoration specific settings.
You can post bugs to the beryl bugtracker at http://bugs.beryl-project.org .

Patchs criterias
Greetings everyone!
During the 5 months since Compiz was released lots of work has been
done outside of the official team by the new Compiz community in order
to improve Compiz's features and usability. These unofficial
developers are mainly using the compiz.net boards, #xgl or #compiz-dev
IRC channels on Freenode to get in touch, discuss ideas, features,
patches and bugs... Most patches

Post unification
Hello Community
Congratulations everyone for the reunification.
To kick off the process, shall we finalize channels we are going to
use for communication so that all the developers involved know what is
going on and where. Which ML and IRC would be used for 'semi-official'
communication etc.

roll wheel on desktop to switch viewport
Hi. After some time using Quinn's Compiz I returned to Vanilla, which is
more stable to me. There's a feature I do miss from Quinn's package,
though, and it's the ability to change viewports by rolling the mouse
wheel over the desktop.
Would it be possible to mimic that behavior in Vanilla? Thanks in
advance.

Feature request: windows snapping
There is a feature of oroborus http://www.oroborus.org/ (also used in
xfwm) which might be worth importing: windows snapping.
>From the xfce website
(http://www.xfce.org/documentation/docs-4.2/xfwm4.html#wm_advanced):
"You can choose the windows borders to be attracted by the borders of
other windows, or by the screen edges, when they are moved. The

Freenode Group Registration
I've been informed by freenode staff that in order to claim #compiz
and #compiz-dev (both are apparently leftovers from beryl) we need to
fill out a group registration and have a group contact. I'd be willing
to handle all that, just thought I should ask here first to see if
everyone was ok with it. Thoughts?

Window decorations gone...
Hi All!
First off, thanks to everybody working on compiz, xgl, aiglx, etc.
In recent versions of compiz and Xgl (from the quinn and reggaemanu
repositoried) I have lost all window decorations. I have tried all
combinations of plugins and still can't get them to show. I have the
cube working fine as well as wobbly windows.
Is there any way I can debug this problem without resorting to

Quick patch to fix bug with new plugin fini code.
Still haven't tracked down the gconf/option bug (gdb makes it clear
that addScreenBinding is being called with really weird values
sometimes)
here's a patch though to fix a bug in adding/removing plugins that was
crashing compiz
