similar to: zenity question

All, I have been looking at zenity to pop up messages on the X screen. Is there another alternative to zenity that I have not found? I need to be able to completely remove the OK button, I cannot find a way in zenity to do this. also It would be nice to have a --timeout 5 option on the command line also. Any suggestions? Jerry

I have been trying to find out if the /etc/aliases file can accept wildcards in the user name I was hoping that a line like or similiar: machine*: myaccount would take any name matching machine* and forward onto the myaccount mailbox. man aliases didnt really help me nor did I find anything else. How do you format a command line that needs < > and they are not meant to redirect anything they are part of an email address. command -f "Some Email <someemail at somedomain.com>" -x -y -z I tried putting a backslach in front of the < and > but that didnt do it either. Thanks, Jerry

Is there a method to display pop up messages on X display? I found xmessage, however I was hoping for something a little more flexible. like being able to tell xmessage to display a file (typically one line in the file). then send it a signal to tell it to re-read the file and show the new data. Hi I have a compaq R4000 with the 2.4GIG AMD 64 bit. 4000+ rated. proc cpuinfo reports cpu Mhz as 997.481 Do I have to run the 64 bit version to have things run correctly? I just have the normal 4.2 loaded at this time. The laptop seems slow for 4000+ as reflected by the cpu Mhz also. Any thoughts on running the 32 bit version of 4.2 vs the 64 bit version of 4.2?
