Qlogic HBA scanning issues with CentOS 5.1 ?
Hi,
I got few servers (IBM HS20,HS21 blades, IBM xSeries 3650 & others)
connected to a dual fabric san throught Qlogic HBA's (23xx, 24xx).
Multipathing is done with device-mapper-multipath.
On CentOS 4.x i can scan for new scsi devices without any problems, get
them up with multipathing & use them without any problems.
However, after i started installing CentOS 5.1 (did not

File Server using ISCSI attached storage - Hardware HBA ?
Hi Everyone
I am looking at setting up a File Server that uses ISCSI storage. It is
the first time I have done this, so I am wanting to get peoples thoughts
on whether for CentOS systems you should use Hardware based ISCSI HBA's?
If so do I need to be careful about what HBA I use ? Currently I am
looking at purchasing a Dell System using Broadcom ethernet cards/
ISCSI HBA. From

qlogic driver not scanning scsi bus on load CentOS 5.1
Very strange behavior, been banging my head against the
wall on this one too. It works fine on CentOS 4.6, the
behavior is when the driver loads the bus is not scanned
or at least the devices that are exported are not detected.
(they are detected in the HBA bios no problem). If I issue
the qlogic bus scan command it doesn't get anything back
either. If I manually add the devices with

CentOS 4.5 - ProLiant DL585 G2 - Mouse Issue
Hi
OK another issue trying to get X going on these boxes. It seems to be a
HP issue but if anyone knows a solution that would be great.
I am using the iLo interface and the hpmouse-1.1.0-73.noarch.rpm driver.
As root i can startx and all is well, however when starting X as the
oracle user it fails with the following error

qlogic qle2462 hba and freebsd stable on a dl360 g5
Hi.
I'm looking at a qlogic qle2462 hba for my dl360 g5. The thread
http://www.mail-archive.com/freebsd-stable@freebsd.org/msg99497.html
mentions a deadlock when system is loaded. Has this issue been
resolved? Are there other PCI Express hba's which are known to work
with freebsd stable and dl360 g5?

PE-2850 to AX100 via Qlogic Card (QLA200 HBA) on CentOS 4.1
Hi list,
I have the choice to use RHEL4 or Centos4.x on a Dell PowerEdge2850 who
is linked to an AX100 storage system. My question is: does the QLA200
(the pci fiber channel card) driver will work on CentOS 4.1 . For now
the card is listed like this on CentOS 4.1:
---
#lspci

How to prevent loading qla2300.o module
I apologize in advance as this is not really at CentOS specific issue,
but I don't know where else to turn. We are configuring some Dell
1850s for a customer, and they have all been configured with a QLogic
dual channel HBA. But no storage has been (or will be in the near
future) attached to these HBAs. During the boot process (both for the
kickstart and after the OS has been

Solaris10 forum
Hi all-
Usually i call out on this list for help on the CentOS matters but today I
am fishing around trying to find an active forum for Solaris.
It's hard to match the community here but I'd like to find the Solaris list
where the most people are.
Just having trouble configuring multipathing on QLogic iSCSI HBA's on
Sparc_Solaris10.
Thanks in advance-

Qlogic Fibrechannel and detecting new LUNs on the fly
Hi there,
I've installed a Qlogic HBA in a 4.8-STABLE machine and I'm able to present
LUNs to this machine from an HDS array and use them. That all works
perfectly. However, the only time I pick up new LUNs is on a reboot.
Seems like I should be able to rescan the fabric and pick up new LUNs, but
there doesn't seem to be a way to do this. I tried camcontrol rescan, but

HP DL585 - CentOS4.5 - kix woes
Hi
Well we are now using HP instead of Dell and have hit a major hurdle. We
dont seem to be able to kix any of these boxes. I have been most
recently trying on a dl585 and the issue appears to be that the kix
kernel does not detect any nic. Its strange as the box can be installed
using iso's and the nic appears as

[RFC] pv-scsi driver (scsiback/scsifront)
Hi all.
We developped a pv-scsi driver that we refered Fujita-san''s scsi-driver
and blkback.
(see, http://www.xensource.com/files/xensummit_4/Xen_Summit_8_Matsumoto.pdf)
The pv-scsi driver''s feature is as follow:
* Guest has dedicated SCSI-HBAs of Dom0.
* Guest can send scsi_cdb to the HBAs.
* Guest recognises the HBAs from hostno of xenstore.

PCI passthrough of cciss HBA
All,
I would like to run the following issue past the list to confirm that my
problem analysis makes sense or whether I missed something:
We have a HP ML370G6 server with VT-x and VT-d enabled in the BIOS. It is
equipped with two Smart Array HBAs - one connected to the HDD array
(SmartArray P800) and one connected to an LTO tape drive (SmartArray

server makes a hard reset without any kernel panic or output.

6 node cluster with unexplained reboots
We just installed a new cluster with 6 HP DL380g5, dual single port Qlogic 24xx HBAs connected via two HP 4/16 Storageworks switches to a 3Par S400. We are using the 3Par recommended config for the Qlogic driver and device-mapper-multipath giving us 4 paths to the SAN. We do see some SCSI errors where DM-MP is failing a path after get a 0x2000 error from the SAN controller, but the path gets puts
