mapas de OpenStreetMap
Hola a Todos

Panning map to a point vs. setCenter
Several map providers have functions to pan to a location, as opposed
to the direct setCenter call. Panning animates the move from one point
to another. To implement this in mapstraction, I created a panCenter
function.
I don''t know how to go about committing the change to svn, or who
decides whether my naming convention is worthy, but I thought I''d
share the function

marker.closeBubble()
Any reason why there''s no closeBubble function in Mapstraction? It''s
supported by at least Yahoo (closeSmartWindow) and Google
(closeInfoWindow).
A related issue, but not as clear-cut: a bubble closed event. I know
Google supports this, but I haven''t investigated further.

source toolkit and am casting about for alternatives. Please tell me how to use
Mapstraction for a particular use case..
The use case is a map of places with lines to the nearest surrounding

New package: OpenStreetMap 0.2
OpenStreetMap is a new package that accesses raster open street maps from Mapnik, and satellite imagery from Bing.
Some features:
1. Uses multiple map tiles stitched together to create high quality images.
2. No files are created or stored on the hard drive.
3. Tiles are cached, so downloads occur only when necessary.
4. ggplot 0.9.0 integration

NAT issue with Fortinet Firewall
I have a customer with a Fortinet Firewall that is having stability
issues with Asterisk and SIP endpoints (PAP2T) outside his network.
The first issue I see is that Asterisk sees all phones as the IP
address of the Fortinet. Since the parameter "localnet" defines the
local network and that address falls in that range, how will Asterisk
treat the endpoints? I have

OpenSpace support for mapstraction
Attached is patch to provide support for OpenSpace in mapstraction. A demo
can be seen at http://yvonnesplants.co.uk/openspace_demo.html.
Note that OpenSpace seems sometimes to have a problem with links clicked
from email. If you get an error ''HTTP referrer not valid'' then open a new
browser window and paste in the link and it should be ok.
The following features are not

Linux/Unix DNS question
While traveling, I found a motel with WiFi where Firefox and the DNS utilities,
nslookup and dig, worked as expected, but wget, termtter (a CLI Twitter
client), my Ruby on Rails applications, and several other programs could not
resolve any domain names (getaddrinfo error, from memory). If I plugged the
IP address obtained with nslookup into /etc/hosts, they worked as expected.
Could anyone

consulta geolocalizaciones
El problema de OpenStreetMaps es que en las rutas no prioriza las mejores vías: en algunos casos he visto que las calcula incluyendo caminos sin asfaltar. Y no supe en su momento cómo cambiar eso...
Saludos.

Using mapstraction
Folks,
I just wanted to drop a quick note pointing out that the next version of
the StatusNet microblogging software uses Mapstraction to provide a
mapping interface. It uses the OpenStreetMaps flavour by default.
It''s in use in production on identi.ca, for example:

Thanks for a great piece of software!
