centos 6.2 xfs + nfs space allocation
Centos 6.2 system with xfs filesystem.
I'm sharing this filesystem using nfs.
When I create a 10 gigabyte test file from a nfs client system :
dd if=/dev/zero of=10Gtest bs=1M count=10000
10000+0 records in
10000+0 records out
10485760000 bytes (10 GB) copied, 74.827 s, 140 MB/s
Output from 'ls -al ; du' during this test :
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 429170688 Jun 8 10:13 10Gtest

Dom0 log and disk space management
We''re running a handful of XCP 1.1 pools and have run in to situations wherein the local filesystem on the Dom0 control domain hits 100% capacity due to error logging in /var/log (daemon.log, messages, xensource.log, etc) thereby taking that host offline. Twice recently we''ve run in to this, on two different pools, first due to the primary SR hitting capacity and secondly when

Doubt about a population competition function
Hi,
I'm doing a function that describe two populations in competition.
that's the function that i wrote:

space allocation vs. thin provisioning
Short question:
I''m curious as to how ZFS manages space (free and used) and how
its usage interacts with thin provisioning provided by HDS
arrays. Is there any effort to minimize the number of provisioned
disk blocks that get writes so as to not negate any space
benefits that thin provisioning may give?
Background & more detailed questions:
In Jeff Bonwick''s blog[1], he

[LLVMdev] Quick doubt about IR
Hi,
While looking over the IR generated by my source code, I came across the following:
%arr = alloca [30 x i8], align 1
In the source code this particular line of code is represented by:
int arr[30];
I was wondering how I could change the capacity of arr from 30 to any other integral value via a function-pass. I know that 'alloca' can be used for reserving space on stack; further,

Free space/capacity displayed as garbage...
Dear,
I'm having some strange problems with Samba.
I have shared a linux folder on my samba and have mapped it to a drive letter in Windows XP (I also tried with Windows 2000).
When I right click my mapped drive and click on properties to view the free space and capacity, I get all garbage as can be seen
from the screenshot at:

No space left on device on not full filesystem
Hello,
We have running lustre 1.8.1 and have met "No space lest on device"
error when uploading 500 Gb small files (less then 100 Kb each).
The problem seems to depends on the number of files. If we remove one
file, we can create one new file, even with Gb size; but if we haven''t
remove something we can''t create even very little file, as an example
using touch

dlm package: how to specify state space model?
Dear r-users!
I have another question regarding the dlm package and I would be very
happy if someone could give me a hint!
I am using the dlm package to get estimates for an endogenous rate of
capacity utilization over time. The general form of a state space model
is
(1) b_t = G * b_t-1 + w_t w_t ~ N(0,W)
(2) y_t= A' * x_t + H' * b_t + v_t v_t ~ N(0,V)

Linux Software RAID 1 - Unequal Sized Hard Disks
Has anyone created or rebuilt a Linux Software RAID having mirrored
partitions on unequal sized hard disks ? There is a CentOS 5 server
having two 400 GB hard disks with five mirrored partitions (software
RAID 1) and one of the hard disks is dying. Since new 400 GB HDDs are
not available here, we are exploring the possibility of replacing the
faulty hard disk with one of a higher capacity (500 GB

[LLVMdev] Quick doubt about IR
Create a new alloca instruction, insert it into the IR right before (or after) the old one, RAUW the value, then delete the old instruction. You should be able to find a variety of examples of this sort of thing in most of the IR level optimization passes. I’d look at InstCombine in particular.

over-allocation of memory
This is probably a really stupid question, but what happens if you have
more memory allocated to domU''s than your physical RAM? Will that cause
dom0 to crash? DomU''s to crash? Or just slow performance due to swap use
on dom0?
I ask this because we''ve got high availability clusters running domU''s,
and I want to know how much memory is safe to allocate to
