climstats
I have been trying to download the climstats package:
https://r-forge.r-project.org/R/?group_id=861
but it doesn't seem to run on R 3.0.2 or 3.0.1 and the zipfile is empty.
Does anyone know the status of this package or where I can download it.
Thanks

Variables in find
How can i make a variable in find my code is
@gardens = Garden.find(:all, :conditions => { :user_id => 1})
The number 1 must be a variable of user.id so you only get the stuff
placed by the user logged in at the moment

Help with gamm errors
Dear All
Hopefully someone out there can point out what I am missing! I have a
(large, several hundred) dataset of gardens in which over two years the
presence/absence of a particular bird species is noted each week. I have
good reason to believe there is a difference between the two years in the
weekly proportion of gardens and would like to assess this, before going on
to look in more detail at

A co-occurrence matrix
Dear R experts,
I have a matrix (from some sort of
classification) like this:
object group
[1,] 1 1
[2,] 2 2
[3,] 3 1
[4,] 4 1
[5,] 5 3
And I need something like this:
[,1] [,2] [,3] [,4] [,5]
[1,] 1 0 1 1 0
[2,] 0 1 0 0 0
[3,] 1 0 1 1 0
[4,] 1 0 1 1 0
[5,] 0 0 0 0 1

Random number generation
Hi All.
(This is probably an incredibly stupid question :))
I have just noticed that every time I start an R2.3 session and request
a random number (say with rnorm) that I receive the same number. AFAIK I
have not set a seed at any point. Returning to an older version of
R(v1.8) I get the behaviour that I have come to expect, where a new seed
is automatically generated for each new session

confidence intervals for Harrell's c-index in survival setting
Dear All,
Is it possible to get confidence intervals for Harrell's concordance index or, equivalently, Somer's D using the rms package or in some other way ?
I have survival data it would be the c-index in the Cox model setting
Many thanks

negative Somers D from Design package
Dear R help
My problem is very similar to the analysis detailed here.
If we use the mayo dataset provided with the survivalROC package the estimate for Somer's Dxy is very negative -0.56.
The Nagelkerke R2 is positive though 0.32.
I know there is a difference between explained variation and predictive ability but I am surprised there is usch a difference given that even a non predictive model

Puppet and yum repositories
I''m running puppet 0.24.6 on CentOS 5.2 from a puppetmaster on a
virtual server to a variety
of client servers both virtual and metal running either CentOS 5.2 or
Fedora Core 10. I want to
extend this to servers running RHEL 5 (and 6) in the near future.
My problem is I have puppet set up with all repositories (mirrored

ActiveRecord, insert and not auto-incremented primary keys...
Hi,
After playing while with ActiveRecord, I''m surprised it isn''t easier to insert data into a table whose primary key is not auto-incremented by the database server.
The following code...

-- MySQL database "test"

CREATE TABLE gardens

issue with L-BFGS-B in optim (optim just hangs)
Dear R-Help List,
I am using optim, with method=L-BFGS-B, to maximize a likelihood inside
a large simulation exercise. This runs fine for most simulated data
sets, but for some reason, about 1 out of 100 times, optim will just hang.
Using a dumb approach to the problem (i.e. printing the parameter values
each time the function being maximized is evaluated), I tracked down
when this happens,

Dovecot hangs randomly
I have been run into a weird problem with dovecot. We have 4
identical servers running dovecot, serving both IMAP and POP3
clients. Every few hours, clients start timing out after the PASS
command. Here is what the process tree looks like at that time:
6718 ? Ss 0:00 /usr/sbin/dovecot
6719 ? S 0:00 \_ dovecot-auth
6881 ? S 0:00 | \_ dovecot-auth

some items not indexed properly.. how to fix?
I''ve got ferret enabled for :name and :description. One of the items it
should be indexing has a name of Flow Yoga
searching for ''Flow'' finds it but searching for ''Yoga'' does not.
I also have Elation Yoga in the database
searching for ''Elation'' finds it and searching for ''Yoga'' also finds it.
Anybody know why

[LLVMdev] Unreachable code executed crash
Initially, tt was not a problem with the verifier, we were just inserting a
wrong instruction in our pass. Also we were able to figure out the error you
pointed out and our pass is running as intended!!! Thanks a lot.
