AppMailer and McCray''s theme generator
Hi,
I am using Matt McCray''s theme generator.
http://rubyforge.org/projects/theme-generator/
Everything works fine, but rendering an action in a controller using
the AppMailer raises this:
undefined method `current_theme'' for #<AppMailer:0x39df950>
Is there someone who could help me ?
Thanks !
Mickael.

acts_as_authenticated trouble
First off, I''d like to address that I''m n00bs.
I''ve read the README and blogs associated with this plugin, and there
really isn''t too much documentation. I have the newest version of
rails,ruby, and acts_as_authenticated installed.
#The setup
I set up the acts_as_authenticated in the following manner.

New worker not being created
I figured out that in the backgroundrb.yml, I had the old setting of making
the database RAILS_ENV. It wasn''t a valid variable in backgroundrb 0.2.1,
and it wasn''t reporting an error, so I had no idea. Once I changed it to
''development'' or ''production'', it started working.
I found that if a worker has an error, it usually logs the error

acts_as_authenticated, reset_session, and redirect_back_or_default
Just a question and an FYI
I just installed rails and acts_as_authenticated and was setting up a
site. Everything works fine except that in the AccountController that
I generated the calls to the routine redirect_back_or_default don''t
work because the call just before it to reset_session clears the
session[:return_to] that the method uses to set where it will
redirect.
I ended up adding

I''ve installed the "acts_as_authenticated" plugin and made some
modifications to the controller (app/controllers/account_controller.rb)

@user = User.new(@params[:user])
if request.post?

acts_as_authenticated mailing for activation problem
Hi
I''m relatively new to all this, so sorry if this is a daft question.
I''ve got the acts_as_authenicated plugin working and have added the user
activation extras - which is all fine but I can''t seem to get the
activation mail sent.
My mail setup in config/environment.rb works with other notifiers, so I
was wondering if there''s anything I''m not

I removed the default index.html and route it to Account controller.
If you read the log below, it seems that the AccountController is

Living Dangerously?
how can I get the benefits of integration testing with Rspec on Rails
REL_0_6_3, please?
When I first started playing with Rspec on Rails, I hacked
spec_helper.rb to include the IntegrationTest interface (diff below) as
it was the minimum change I could make to get the the ability to run
multiple actions across controllers in my spec. I use it to specify
authenticated sessions and stuff.

Lost connection to Mysql
I''m trying to set up RoR on a laptop and having all sorts of troubles.
I''m running XP SP2, I did a quick install of appache/mysql using Xampp,
which worked fine.
I grabbed the latest windows install of ruby and rails, installed it ok
and got it running.
The moment I try to run a rails page that queries a database, it fails
every time, and I get the following error:

Problem with model and controller dir having same name?
After a rather frustrating couple of hours I finally realised that if
you generate controllers under a subdirectory, eg /admin/book,
/admin/account, etc and you also generate a model with name "Admin",
then rails gets confused and prints a really useless error:
Recognition failed for "/admin/account"
This is with rails 1.1.2. Can someone please explain:

acl_system plugin first look
Friends-
Here is another plugin hot off the presses of the three day
weekend ;) Its a role based authorization system. I have been talking
with Bill Katz about this system so it ties in with his recent
announcement as well. Its just my implementation.
Its an acl/role type system that can sit on top of the
acts_as_authenticated login system or any login system that
implements a few

route help using accounts but not with subdomain
Hi all,
I''ve just started trying to figure out rails routes
and am having some difficulty.
I want to have the directory structure start with the
/:account_name/ instead of using the subdomain with
the exception of account/create and account/list
I tried:

newbie before_filter question
I''ve successfully gotten acts_as_authenticated working. Currently the
before_filter line for my admin screen is like this:
class AdminController < ApplicationController
include AuthenticatedSystem
before_filter :login_required
Only issue I have now is that anyone logged in can access that screen.
I''d like to differentiate between a regular user and
