libsmbclient conflict problem
Hi, I have a c-6 machine that I noticed the following on: (bugs pts10) # package-cleanup --problems Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, priorities, refresh-packagekit Package system-config-printer-libs-1.1.16-26.el6.x86_64 requires libsmbclient.so.0()(64bit) Package kdebase-runtime-libs-4.3.4-9.el6.x86_64 requires libsmbclient.so.0()(64bit) So then I ran: (bugs pts10) # yum install libsmbclient

Installing Samba 4 on Redhat 6.
Hi - Samba 3 had been running for years on a Redhat 6 box that I can't upgrade. Suddenly it stopped allowing windows client to access it. After trying many things, I then tried a "net ads leave" and then tried a "net ads join." The join fails with this error message: Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain 'PSFC.MIT.EDU' over

Unable to log out normally
I've posted this question to the Gnome users list, but so far no luck, so I thought I'd mention this here. A little while ago, I noticed that I was no longer able to log out from my GDM. I'm running the default GDM (2.16) that comes with CentOS, and this problem started up right about the same time that I updated to the 53.1.4 kernel (from the 8.1.15 version). As I've posted

Hello, I am using a self compiled kde-3.5.10 from ftp.kde.org as a desktop system under CentOS 5.4. Does anybody knows where to get a cve-2010-0436 patch (kdebase, kdm) for kde-3.5.10? Thanks! regards Olaf

KDE Upgrade from 3.3.1 to 3.4.2
I have downloaded the required KDE files (version 3.4.2)(I know what all files are required), and tried to simply upgrade using the rpm -Uvh command. But i began getting dependency problems. Now, what I did was searched google like a mad buffalo :P to find that missing files, and was successful to a great extent. But the weird thing was I got a few conflicts, which I can't around with. Linking libsmbclient with GPLv2 Code
Hello everyone, I'm not sure who to ask about this, but I have a licensing question. I'm writing a utility to allow Git to connect to SMB shares, which uses libsmbclient. I was thinking about using libgit2 in my program: http://libgit2.github.com/ . This library is licensed as GPLv2 only, with a linking exception to link to any program without restriction. My understanding is that, since

KWD not building problem solved
It looks like you just assumed too much. kde-config has a specific include dir query. I am now hitting some dbus problems, but it does not seem to be related. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... How to replace ntfs by ntfs-3g?
Hello, I can write to an ntfs partion if mounting it by hand with 'mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sdf5 /mnt/xp'. But if I use the mount option from the kde Storage Media panel applet (kdebase-3.5.4-13.6.el5.centos) then the partion will be mounted without write support. So how to say kde and CentOS to use ntfs-3g and not ntfs? Maybe by changing some links? Thank you very much. regards Olaf

firefox is incredibly unstable
does anyone else have major probs with Firefox as installed on CentOS5? ever since the RPM for FF3 came out it has been crashing daily. Usually when I use Save As... or Browse... or anything else that brings up the Gnome file picker. After the crash I re-start then the file picker works for a while. Sometimes it just takes scrolling or click+drag an image or some other random action. BANG

qt3-devel packages
Hi Everyone, I am trying to build rpms for a product called Rivendell for CentOS 4.4 (http://www.salemradiolabs.com/rivendell/) One of the packages requires a package called qt3 and qt3-devel All searches reveal this package to be available for SuSE. Any ideas if this is available for CentOS/EL4? Or a src.rpm that I can use? Thanks for your time. [root at foreground ~]# rpm -ivh

Trouble building Samba 2.2.5 of Solaris 9
Looks like inet_aton has cropped up again, in libsmbclient.c: if (!inet_aton(server, &rem_ip)) { DEBUG(4, ("Could not convert IP address %s to struct in_addr\n", server)); errno = ENOENT; return NULL; } This function doesn't exist in Solaris, and causes this shared library to fail to link, when called by other programs (notably KDE 3): Undefined
