Can anybody recommend a good T1/PRI provider ?
Are you looking for local or Long distance? What will these T1s primarily be used for(inbound/outbound, domestic, local, long distance, international) How important are per minute rates to you? how many minutes do you expect to use per month? We are in Tampa Florida and have 15 T1s from several different providers so I may be able to refer you to one if it's a match to what you're

Phone system layout suggestions
I am thinking about a change to our company's phone "layout" and would like to get comments from people who have done something similar. Currently, we have 3 locations - each with their own Asterisk PBX. The corporate office has a PRI. Each remote location has a SIP provider for 5 channels of SIP going to their own PBX. Interoffice calls use the PSTN. Most inbound calls come to

SIP Trunking Mantra (Origination)
Hello Everyone, We are currently having talks with various service providers, and trying to determine what the best way is to interconnect in order to have access to the PSTN network. As you know there are two ways of doing this: Traditional PRI: Have trunks grouped into a transport layer such as OC3/12. With DIDs attached to the group. As you many know, this approach would also require a POP

Cisco IP Phones and Skinny in asterisk 1.8.4.2 "tooooooooooooooooo"
Hi All; Again, the Cisco IP Phones 7942G and using Skinny: I upgraded the firmware to version 8.5 (skinny) and I am using skinny channel (chan_skinny) and the skinny.conf file. The phones are registering, but when we use them to place a call, we only hear tooooooooooo in the handset and we do not hear voice (even when we dial the digits, we only hear toooooooo .. but it dials and destination

Inbound call center - reliability \ scalabil ity with queues
For an inbound call center with 4 T1s and 30-50 agents on you would do just fine with a single, one-processor machine. We have handled more than this on a single P4 server although we use astGUIclient instead of Asterisk queues, but the load is very similar. I would recommend a Sangoma Quad T1 card because they are about 30% more efficient than Digium T1 cards. When you say that you need to

iax.cc opinion request
I am considering using iax.cc (sixtel) and wondering if anyone had opinions, good or bad. Are there outages with any regularity? How responsive are tech support? How is packet loss? I am particularly interested in termination to the UK, but will accept any comments people have. DID from Direct from Telco
Hello Everyone, Unlike going through DIDx, DIDLogic etc.., we have an option of getting DIDs directly from local telco Bell Canada. Currently our SIP Trunk provider assigned a DID to us, and as you know, they just redirect requests it to our PBX. However, when dealing directly with a telco, what equipment will we need? Basically giving us the same capability as a DID provider. If someone can

T1-PRI deployment questions...
I am ordering T1-PRI service from local service provider and have a few questions. Is there framing and coding considerations (or is it all one standard), if so what is best? How are calls routed based on DIDs - are these just dtmf tones passed after the call is picked up and treated as normal exten=> definitions? echotraining on T1 circuits
Hello, We just had some new T1s turned up today to replace others that our contract has run out on and we are now getting more echo on the new T1 lines than we had on the old ones. The T1 type is 24-channel, D4/AMI SF Robbed-bit(the same as the T1s they replaced) The problem is that we are getting echo on about 10% of the calls in and out placed on these new T1s compared to less than 1% with

Reliable SIP Trunk Provider
I'm wondering if any other Asterisk users have a recommendation for a reliable SIP Trunk provider that supports Asterisk and offers decent support. I've worked with Coredial, Broadvox, and Broadvoice and have had some bad experiences with each of these providers. Broadvoice offers low cost service, however I have constant issues with Broadvoice blocking my customers due to Asterisk

Ordering BRI From AT&T
Hello everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I have a business customer in the U.S. (Michigan, AT&T Territory). I need to get 4 trunks into an asterisk Box. My intention is to use an Eicon Diva Server card with 2 BRI Circuits. The reason for this is that the business needs DID's on the trunks (20 of them). A full or fractional PRI is overboard for them, as they will

Toll Free DIDs
I have several toll free numbers that get forwarded to a single local number assigned to a trunkgroup. I've asked the telco to not forward those toll free numbers but to assign them as DIDs to the trunkgroup, so that I can differentiate via DNID. They said that they can't do that. That toll free numbers must forward. I know that I could have them each forward to different local DIDs

Opinions on the best wholesale origination/term providers
I've been losing patience with my current provider, a small company called Sellvoip. Their termination is good, and they are asterisk based, but they are understaffed and have no concept of customer service. So I'm shopping. I am interested in the opinions of others on the providers they work with. Here are my criteria, roughly in order a) Decent quality, low latency. In

Suggestions for reliable DID provider for Canada, USA and Europe
I posted the same question on asterisk-biz mailing list but didn't have much response. So I am posting it here now. I need a good, reliable and stable DID provider for USA, Canada and Europe. I prefer to have fixed monthly rates for incoming and outgoing calls and not per minute charges. Features I need to get with DIDs are: 1. my own caller ID and caller name on outbound calls 2. multiple

Digium T100P T1 Card
Hello All, I could use a recommendation if anyone has a moment. I have the T100P but I have not gotten my service yet. I want to have at least 12 lines of digital voice with DID. Should I just seek out a PRI ISDN provider or is there something else I should look for? I want to keep cost as low as possible. Also, I want to own my own router for the phones since it is always a hassle to get

Blacklisting Toll-Free etc.
I have always been able to block toll-free numbers by catching them with a line similar to this for each DID I have on my system: exten => 5554441212/_888NXXXXXX,n,Playback(GoAway) Where 15554441212 is one of the DIDs that rings into our Asterisk box. The problem with this approach that I have to create a line like this for every pattern I want to block multiplied by every DID on my system,
