Re: pvusb drivers for pvops 2.6.32.x kernel
Hello, Jeremy: See the included patch. If it''s OK it''d be nice to get it into xen/stable-2.6.32.x branch. GPLPV, clock drift and PVUSB in Windows XP HVM
1. Shouldn''t the GPLPV drivers take care of the (bad) clock drift I''m experiencing in my Windows XP HVM? Or is there some other way around this problem that I haven''t been able to find on Google? How can I tell if the GPLPV drivers are active? I''ve added the /gplpv switch to the boot.ini file and the virtual NIC is definitely using the GPLPV version but other

scsi passthrough in pvops kernel
pvscsi appears to be missing from the pvops kernel. Is there a specific reason for this or has it just not been done yet? James _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

usbpassthrough of xen-4.1.2
Hi, everyone! I am working on the USB passthrough of Xen-4.1.2. My host OS is Fedora 14 and the guest OS is win7. According to the wiki page(http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/Xen_USB_Passthrough), xen supports passthrough of usb device from dom0 to guests. I have tried the Xen HVM guest qemu-dm usb1.1 emulation, by specifying "usb = 1" and "usbdevice = host:xxxx:yyyy". But, the

PV USB Use Case for Xen 4.x
Good Afternoon. My colleague Stefan (sstan) was asked on the IRC channel to provide our use case for PV USB in our environment. This is possible with the current xm stack but not available with the xl stack. Currently we use PVUSB to attach a USB Smartcard reader through our dom0 (SLES 11 SP1) running on an HP Blade Server with the Token mounted on an internal USB Port to our domU CA server

[RFC PATCH v01] Xen PVSCSI drivers for pvops xen/stable-2.6.32.x kernel
Hello, http://pasik.reaktio.net/xen/patches/xen-pvscsi-drivers-linux-2.6.32.27-pvops-v01.diff This is the first version of Xen PVSCSI drivers, both the scsiback backend and scsifront frontend, ported from Novell SLES11SP1 2.6.32 Xenlinux kernel to pvops xen/stable-2.6.32.x branch. At the moment it''s *only* compile-tested with the latest xen/stable-2.6.32.x git kernel as of today

USB frontend and backend disappeared from latest unstable tree
Hi Folks, I just did a "hg pull -u" on my unstable tree and realized that the USB virtualization related code disappeared (e.g. /linux-2.6-xen-sparse/drivers/xen/usbfront/ and /linux-2.6-xen-sparse/drivers/xen/usbback/ directories are not present). I traced the changes to the changeset 7027:06d84bf87159 which was committed on september 22 by djm@kirby.fc.hp.com. Could someone please

make-kpkg (Debian based tool) does not build xen patched kernel‏
Hello list, I cannot get make-kpkg to build a Xenlinux type kernel into a Debian kernel binary on my Debian Squeeze x86_64 system. I am using GNU/Linux kernel sources tree (2.6.34.4) with Xen patches for this custom kernel. I am trying to use the make-kpkg command to build a working linux-image-2.6.34.4-xen-amd64 package for my system. The sources are vanilla (available from kernel.org) with

Xen 4.3 release planning proposal
Hello everyone! With the completion of our first few release candidates for 4.2, it''s time to look forward and start planning for the 4.3 release. I''ve volunteered to step up and help coordinate the release for this cycle. The 4.2 release cycle this time has been nearly a year and a half. One of the problems with having such a long release is that people who get in features

first attempt of pvscai backend driver port to pvops
Attached is my first attempt at getting the backend pvscsi driver (scsiback) working under the latest pvops kernel. I have tested it with the scsi frontend driver in gplpv, and have restored about 20GB of data from a HP LTO3 tape drive successfully, so it appears to be working fine. There are quite a few changes compared to the version in 2.6.18. The main change is that I get the vaddr for each

usb passthrough
If I understand the docs (http://www.nabble.com/-RFC--PATCH-0-4--PVUSB:-add-paravirtualized-USB-s upport-for-Xen-td22550607.html), I can''t have a USB harddisk used by Dom0 and also pass through another USB harddisk to DomU, because Dom0 will claim the device. Is this a fundamental issue that can''t be solved without a lot of mucking around or is there an easier way around it?

unistalling gplpv from win7x64 gives BSOD
I have installed the 210 gplpv (debug), when I try to update them with current gplpv I get a BSOD even so when I try to uninstall them. Now I have made a bootentry that specifies NOGPLPV, what gives me a bootable system after such a crash, I found (uninstalling the leftover driver packages after getting bsod during uninstall of the main package) that uninstalling the net driver leads to bsod. Now

PVUSB and CentOS 6.4
Hi, I have just been testing the Xen repo that has just been added to CentOS6.4. I have a pretty standard install (after following the quickstart - http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Xen/Xen4QuickStart) with 3.4.54-8.el6.centos.alt.x86_64 kernel. From what I can tell the usbback and usbfront kernel modules for PVUSB are not present in this kernel. How should I go about adding them? The links to

[PATCH 0 of 2] Paging support updates for XCP dom0
This is a cherry pick of two patches that add support for guest paged out frames in the XCP 2.6.32 dom0 patch queue. First patch propagates the ENOENT returned by the hypervisor in the case of a paged out page, all the way up the call chain to the MMAPBATCH_V2 ioctl. The ioctl is mainly used to harvest those return values and retry. The second patch adds retry loops to all backend grant

latest USB code
Here''s the latest USB code against the xen 3.0.0 release. Since the last posting this version updates the code to use the new 32 bit grant references and the latest GNTTABOP_map_grant_ref definition. I''ve also changed the definition of the virtual USB HCD to have a single port rather than seven ports with six unused. Domains importing multiple USB devices will get a HCD for

set_phys_to_machine not exported?
I''m trying to compile pvscsi out-of-tree, and I''m getting an error that set_phys_to_machine is not defined when I try to load the module (with the warning to that effect at compile time too). This used to work fine in pvops. It seems that netfront uses that symbol in a module so I''m confused as to why pvscsi can''t... any suggestions? Is it one of the virtues of

GPLPV drivers suspected to hinder live migration to different CPU type
Hi, I''ve noticed that on a Xen cluster with three nodes (two E5620 CPUs and one E5140 CPU) live migration works perfectly in between to two E5620 nodes, but fails to and from the E5140. The error message is about a HVM context not being able to be set. I strongly suspect the use 238 GPPVL drivers, but I cannot uninstall them at this point because someone else needs the server. Could
