Hm, lets wrap Ian and CC in this converstation. Were there
any big outstanding TODOs before the network maintainer
was OK with them?

Can not modprobe acpi-cpufreq.ko in CentOS 5.2
Dear all,
The cpufreq modules have been distributed in Centos. But recently,
I met a problem when I tried to test the power-related applications.
The module can not be modprobed in kernel notwithstanding releated
with Centos distribution.
The messgae thrown out is:

I thought you were saying it matters - as it should be done around the

xen acpi cpufreq driver
Hi,
i''m not sure if i understood the new acpi xen cpufreq driver - here''s the

acpi: fan running and cpufreq always at minimum on centrino
Hi,
I noticed that the fan of my centrino is very often running since I use Xen
(the load is very low still). Also the cpufreq is always at 600MHz (the max
is 1500MHz), regardless of what of what heavy computations I do (e.g.
calculating md5sums). I heard that it is not possible to run a cpufreq
scheduler like powernowd or cpufreqd, but would it be possible to set the cpu
frequency at least

Using collectd: CPUFreq in dom0
Hello,
I''ve tried to get the CPUFreq plugin of collectd running in dom0.
But I mentioned that it isn''t so easy to get a file in sysfs on the
rigth place.
I know that the value has to come from hypervisor and I''ve seen the code
in xenpm.
The only value I need is
"/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_cur_freq" which would
create cpufreq.c.
Can anyone

[PATCH] amd iommu: Dump flags of IO page faults
Hi Jan,
Attached patch dumps io page fault flags. The flags show the reason of
the fault and tell us if this is an unmapped interrupt fault or a DMA fault.
Thanks,

I just tried to boot a 3.8.0-rc0 kernel (last commit: 7313264b899bbf3988841296265a6e0e8a7b6521) as dom0 on my machine with current xen-unstable.

[PATCH] cpufreq.c: shut up compiler about cpufreq_dom
Some versions of GCC are too stupid to figure out that cpufreq_dom is
only used if !!domexist and always set in that case, and complain that
it may be used uninitialised.
(In general it is IMO better to avoid these kind of flag
variables; I would prefer structures like
for (...) { cpufreq_dom = dom; if (...) goto cpufreq_dom_found; }
cpufreq_dom = 0;

xhci passthrough
Hi Konrad,
Due to a 2.6.37-merge-window kernel now being able to boot under Xen i was able to test my xhci controller under dom0 which i previously couldn''t.
The results:
A) 2.6.37-merge-window kernel baremetal: Videograbbing while doing 20 iterations of make -j6 of kernel works.
B) Xen + 2.6.37-merge-window kernel as Dom0: Videograbbing while doing 20 iterations of make -j6 of kernel

[PATCH] cpufreq: error path fixes
This fixes an actual bug (failure to exit from a function after an
allocation failure), an inconsistency (not removing the cpufreq_dom
list member upon failure), and a latent bug (not clearing the current
governor upon governor initialization failure when there was no old
one; latent because the only current code path leading to this
situation frees the policy upon failure and hence the governor

Unble to find cpufreq driver
Hi,
I am trying to use the cpufreq driver and was unable to find the same on my
xen kernel.
I am currently running the folloing kernel:

I read in certain places that some versions of Xen donot support cpufreq.
But the information was not too clear. Could someone kindly tell me if

HTB doesn''t give me the promised rate: cpufreq?
Hi all :)
I''ve been using a tc setup for almost two years, but at some point
(probably when I switched to kernel 2.6.x, but I''m not sure) it has
started making something very weird.
For a certain class, the rate is 125000bit and the ceil is
270000bit, but the fastest rate I get is about 75-80000bit, instead of
the "promised" 125000, *with no other traffic in

IOMMU and AMD 890fx
Hi,
All the reviews for the AMD 890fx chipset reported that it supports IOMMU
v1.2.
But I cannot find any mention of that on AMD site.
Does 890fx support IOMMU?
Do 890fx motherboards with IOMMU exist?
Does Xen support 890fx?
Regards,
Leonardo
