Xen guest and samba
Hello,
I am new to this list, but having been using CentOS for sometime.
I recently installed CentOS 5 on a test server to check out Xen. The
installation was smooth had so far I have everything working except I
cannot get samba to join our AD domain from the xen guest, using
para-virtualization, I setup. I am out of ideas, and cannot find anyone
having similar problems.
I have tested my

Command "make prep-kernels" not cloning Linux - xen-4.1.0 sources.
Hi!
I compiled the xen-4.0.1 in Linux (Ubuntu 10.04), but as usually, the
xen-4.1.0 is not behaving in a manner similar to the previous version.
Am I required from version xen-4.1.0, transfer the kernel via the command
"git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jeremy/xen.gitlinux-2.6-xen"
from now? I mean, the "make prep-kernels" command of the

Dom0 lvm/software raid rhel4.1 booting issues.
Basically the issue comes down to my Volume Groups not being found by
this initrd, causing good ole kernel panic.

Xen 3 with PAE and more than 4GB of memory on X86 32bit
Hi
This is a general question has anyone got Xen 3 to work with more than
4GIG of memory installed on there physical machine?
I have tried 2 different machines with more than 4 GIG of memory with
no success as yet.
I can get Xen0 booting no problem, i run service xend start with no
problem, i then run xm info and it sees more than 4 gig of memory
available. Fantastic up to this point.

conversion issue on NFS shares
Hi
T'm trying to convert XEN virtual machine image into raw. Source file is on
NFS export and destination is also on nfs export. (both exports are mounted
on migration servers RW access). I'm getting permission denied.
I have RW access to both exports - I can create, delete objects on both
exports from migration server. But when I copy img file onto migration
server local filesystem,

Problem with xen on Centos-4.4?
I am running a Xen installation on a Centos-4.4 based test box, my desktop
unit, and I am having intermittent problems installing certain pieces of
software. Some time back I posted to this list regarding my inability to
install Adobe Acrobat on this unit and was advised to essentially
repackage the software and try again. This is beyond my present means of

Unable to boot guest
Hi All,
I have just installed xen on fedora core 5. I used yum to install xen and kernel-xen0 (and their dependancies)
I can reboot into the new domain0 without issue. When I try and configure a new domain using xenguest-install.py it gets to the point of wanting to install, and then fails.
I have mounted the Fedora Core 5 DVD on /var/www/html/fc5 and the webserver is running, and it is also

Dom0 <> DomU clock sync
Hello !
Just a quick question about time synchronization between xen dom0 and
domUs...
We''re running Xen 3.1 64-bit, with 32 and 64 bits linux guests.
It''s up since 89 days and the domU''s time is around 5 minutes behind the
dom0,
which is updated via ntpdate...
Any idea why it doesn''t sync the guests even that
/proc/sys/xen/independent_wallclock is 0 ?

Evidently defective. I have found another reference that describes
sub-packages.
So the unqualified %files directive is for the base package and the
qualified ones are for the sub-packages. Is this correct?

(open iscsi) initiator crashes
I think I have found the reason for this:
The setup runs just fine until I set the xen dom0 to only use one of the
four CPUs in my machine (actually 2 HT CPUs).
So with
(dom0-cpus 0)
in /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp
this works. The while-loop actually ran fine for 2 days straight.
With
(dom0-cpus 1)
it crashes as described within a few minutes.
I will cc this to the xen-list.

[XCP] recompiling xapi rpm changes version and licensing details.
Hi there. I needed to recompile xapi to fix a bug that was resolved regarding vdi-create not setting the sharable flag. I used the sources provided in the source-1.iso from xen.org. Everything is good in this regard, and creating a vdi that has "sharable=true" is possible, but I had a problem that forced me to revert to the older copy of the xapi binary because my XCP box was now being
