Elasticity in Leslie Matrix
Dear R-users, I would like to calculate elasticities and sensitivities of each parameters involved in the following transition matrix: A <- matrix(c( sigma*s0*f1, sigma*s0*f2, s, v ), nrow=2, byrow=TRUE,dimnames=list(stage, stage)) The command "eigen.analysis" avaliable in package "popbio" provides sensibility matrix and elasticity matrix

[PATCH] Btrfs: don't use an async starter for most of our workers
We only need an async starter if we can''t make a GFP_NOFS allocation in our current path. This is the case for the endio stuff since it happens in IRQ context, but things like the caching thread workers and the delalloc flushers we can easily make this allocation and start threads right away. Also change the worker count for the caching thread pool. Traditionally we limited this to 2

Quicken 2011 Starter Edition, installs, crashes when run
I have a legal version of Quicken 2011 Starter Edition, and I am trying to install it using Wine on my up to date Linux Mint install (Mint 10 "Julia" based on Ubuntu Maverick) I have tried this a couple of ways: using Wine from the default repos (1.2.10 I think?) as well as wine from the WineHQ site (1.3.11) I have tried this install method:

Re: Quicken 2011 Starter Edition, installs, crashes when run
I have been a Quicken user for many years but my upgrade to Mac Lion has ruined that good experience. It seems you do not care about Apple users.

Scrolling a tkcanvas non-starter
Hello, Is it possible to scroll a canvas that has a column of listboxes in it? Does scrolling only work with listboxes and text widgets? The following code displays the scrollbar, but - it has no thumb - does not respond to mouse clicks. - the vertical height of the tkcanvas (i.e. column1) is unconstrained. It's lower edge is out of view, and the lower button on the scrollbar is out of

JGR starter problems
I'm running R 2.4.1 on SuSE Linux 10.2. My system is an AMD based PC with 2 Gigs of ram and abundant HD space. I have always run R from the console without problems, but in the interests of broadening R's user-base, and reducing the complexity of my computing environment, I am hoping to convince my PTB that R is a viable alternative to Excel under Windows - heh. Since they like

H323 Disconnects after 15+ minutes
I have posted my problem on the link below, but didn't get any answer. I am hoping someone here can help me with this issue. Here's my problem: I am using H323 to talk between Asterisk and Avaya IP Office 500. For some strange reason, when we are talking on a VoIP call, we get disconnected after 10+ minutes. We have two other Elastix box, but none of them are getting disconnected. From

Discussion starter for package level Connection API
Thought I'd try and start a discussion. Feel free to jump in. I guess R needs to strike the right balance between opening up the internals to package writers and not allowing them to do bad things. My first attempt at cracking this nut is to just memcpy() the Rconnection and not allow access to the private stuff: /* Alternative to allowing C code access to connection API. */ Rconnection

Strange IPv6 in FreeBSD 9.1RC1
HI Folks, I've got two boxes that I recently moved from -stable to 9.1rc1. I did them one at a time, with about a week between the upgrades. After the first upgrade, I noticed something strange with networking but didn't really dig into it much. After the second upgrade immediately experiencing the same issues, I figured it seemed to be something related to 9.1rc1. What I am finding

Long config retrieval on nodes
Hi all, hoping someone may have encountered a problem similar to this before: On my customer''s EC2 based infrastructure, we have implemented the nodeless, truth driven module outlined by Jordan Sissel here http://www.semicomplete.com/blog/geekery/puppet-nodeless-configuration. It''s quite an effective model, especially in the realm of EC2... we still have a puppetmaster

Looking for recommendations for home office setups
Greetings Asterisk Users, I'm looking for some friendly advice on setting up a asterisk PBX for our small business. I've played with Asterisk and setup a soft-phone open323, though even on my ethernet network this showed very poor performance. Got a phone call through to digium, but had a difficult time either hearing (low volume) or understanding (line breaking up). Hoping a hardware
