trouble adding share with restrictions
I am printing from linux to a printer attached to a win98 computer. I send a text file directly to the printer such as 'lpr -P BJC <file.txt>', the printer prints all the text as it should then fails to eject the last page and then goes off line. When I push the online button, it ejects the page and then is ready again. I am using a Cannon BJC4304. This printer supposedly can

Sorry, I guess I should have been more specific, I am printing from linux to a printer attached to a win98 computer. When I say text I mean when I send a text file directly to the printer such as 'lpr -P BJC <file.txt>'. When I say 'hang' what I mean is that the printer prints all the text as it should then fails to eject the last page and then goes off line. When I push

Hi, I am using Samba (v2.2.3a-12.3 on stable Debian Woody) on a bi-cpu server (named MYSRV) acting as a primary domain controller. All works well except for printers where I have severals little problems. I use LPRng (v3.8.10-1.2 on stable Debian Woody) as my linux lpd spooler on my server. I have 2 printers : one HP LaserJet 4000N (named nss.1er) and one HP LaserJet 4050N (named nss.rdc).

Printing from Linux to Win98
I have a printer - an HP 1120c - connected to my wife's Win98 machine. Occasionally I would like to print to that printer instead of the HP Laserjet 4+ connected to my Linux machine. Could someone explain a couple of things for me? 1. I am running Mandrake 6.0. When I start printtool, it complains that it does not believe Samba is installed. Why and how do I fix? 2. I ignore the message and

correlation predictors problem
R colleagues, I want to get the correlation between the coefficients of a regression. Everything seems OK, but when there are more than 3 regressors, the correlation matrix is completely wrong, as follows: > x.glm <- glm( bascule ~durP+ durI +durC+moyHzPB +moyHzIN, x,family=binomial) > summary(x.glm, correlation=T) Call: glm(formula = bascule ~ durP + durI + durC + moyHzPB +

job fails to print via samba 2.2.6-pre1 - lpd ASCII a nd postscript test works fine...
Ah, it appears that I have confused myself... I indeed have ALL of the queues defined as JetDirect with the model specific driver selected in printconf. With this combination I am telling linux to modify the job [via the filter] and then pass it as a RAW [jetdirect] where I SHOULD just have the queue define as JetDirect with a RAW as the driver and let the job go as transmitted by the client

printtool This will bring up the util that will do what you want. Click ADD and select Remote Unix (lpd) Queue and click OK. Enter the Queue name and hit TAB - this will automaticall chamge the spool directory name to match what you just entered as a name. Enter the printer's IP for Remote Host and the name of the Remote Queue [typically RAW or lp orsome such thing - depends on your printer

I am having a bit of a problem getting my Samba printer configuration to work with Windows XP(I am running samba on Linux Redhat 7.3). Printing with Samba 2.2.5 and lprng
Hello, Excuse me for my English. I use an impression (not yet;) and file server samba 2.2.5 on a red hat 7.2.
