Re: Swiss Hosts for Ruby on Rails
Why exactly does your customer want a Swiss host? Is it for
"patriotic" reasons, or do they think it''ll be quicker? If they think
it''s going to be quicker, you should let them know that with an
American host the difference would be negligeable and with a German
host, it would be pretty much impossible to measure a difference.
But, if using a swiss host is really

E100P setup in Switzerland
Hi all,
I am trying to setup an E100P for use on Swisscom E1-PRI here in
Switzerland.
Swisscom seems to use Siemens hardware.
Here are my configs (cvs from a few hours ago) :
zaptel.conf
loadzone=fr ; tried "de" but got warning at modprobe
defaultzone=fr
span=1,1,0,cas,hdb3,crc4,yellow ; Seems to be right, as the Siemens
SDSL-G703 modem switches its LEDs off ... not sure

Experimental Switzerland -> IAX gateway
Hi,
to test my Asterisk / IAX connection I have configured the Swiss
phone number
032 841 47 74
to a IAX gateway. You can dial 1-700, 1-800 and other numbers
from this number (prefix with 00: for example 0018005551212).
This is a local rate number.
I have not yet implemented IAXtel -> Swiss 1-800 yet because I didn't
succeed in registering two IAXtel numbers yet.
Feel free to test

X100P in Switzerland
Hi
Does anybody if the X100P works in Switzerland? We can't get a line to PSTN.
When I run zttool it shows me always a red alert. I can make and receive calls with an
anlog phone plugged in the phone connector.
I've compiled and configured the card according to the wiki. Everything seemed to be ok.
Is there a way to debug this?
Regards
Reto

PRI suppliers in Switzerland
Greetings list,
I posted this to the -biz list a few days ago. In hindsight, I think it would have been more appropriate posted here, so apologies to those on both lists who've now seen this twice.
I have had a request to provide 2x PRIs to a site in Lausanne, Switzerland, but my knowledge of the Swiss Telco market is non-existent.
Are there any folks on the list who've experience in

swiss.x
Is the swiss data set in R the same as S dataset swiss.x .
I was trying out some clustering by doing the following that I got from
Venables and Ripley's book.
h<-hclus(dist(swiss.x), method= "connected")
plclust(h)
cutree(h,3)
plclust(clorder(h,cutree(h,3)))
I tried swiss instead of swiss.x, it doesnot seem happy.

Swiss IP10S using SIP
Has anyone had success getting the Swiss IP10S and the SIP ( IP10 SP
v0.0.1 (Build 4)) firmware working with Asterisk? If so do you have
copies of what worked in sip.conf and phone configuration files?
I can't seem to get the phone to register, it tries but is denied with
a Forbidden (which I am guessing is authentication). I tried without
a secret, but the phone seems to use swissvoice

Re: PR#886: Error (?) in documentation of 'swiss'
No, you're quite right, I was wrong. I must have been very confused when I
put up the first 'bug' report, #886. I noticed my error a couple of days
after and put up a comment to that effect on R-bugs, but it seems to have
vanished (or alternatively I did that wrong as well). I agree with you on
the criterion for the choice of districts as well. There remains a minuscule
discrepancy
