how to create normal qqplot with the 95% confidence interval
hi everyone! season's greetings! is there any way that i can create a normal qqplot showing, aside from the qqline, the 95% confidence limits? thank you very much.. happy holidays! -- View this message in context: http://n4.nabble.com/how-to-create-normal-qqplot-with-the-95-confidence-interval-tp977727p977727.html Sent from the R help mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

identify() doesn't return "true" numbers
Dear R community. I am using the identify() function to identify outliers in my dataset. This is the code I am using: #################################################################### # Function to allow identifying points in the QQ plot (by mouseclicking) qqInteractive <- function(..., IDENTIFY = TRUE) { qqplot(...) -> X abline(a=0,b=1) if(IDENTIFY) return(identify(X))

outlier identify in qqplot
Dear Community, I want to identify outliers in my data. I don't know how to use identify command in the plots obtained. I've gone through help files and use mahalanobis example for my purpose: NormalMultivarianteComparefunc <- function(x) { Sx <- cov(x) D2 <- mahalanobis(x, colMeans(x), Sx) plot(density(D2, bw=.5), main="Squared Mahalanobis distances, n=nrow(x),

percentile-percentile plot
Hi, Is there a function that does percentile-percentile plot. I do not mean the qqplot. I need to plot the percentiles rather than points themselves. I am hoping for a plot that tells me that the x percentile of one data set corresponds to the y percentile of the other. for example a point on the plot of (.5, .2) will tell me that the 50th percentile of the first data and the 20th percentile of

Probability plotting with R
Hello, Our professor asked us to do probability plotting using weibull paper, exponential paper, normal, log-normal paper, etc. I know I can create Q-Q plot for normal dist. and see if all te points are on one line. How do I go about other distributions? I tried generating different samples and use the general qq function. However, I could not do it since I don't know the population

superimpose density line over hist
Hi all, I'm trying to superimpose a rchisq density line over a histogram with something like: hist(alnlength) lines(density(rchisq(length(alnlength), 4)),col="red") But the rchisq line won't appear anywhere, Anyone knows what I am missing here? Thanks in advance, Albert.

QQ plotting of various distributions...
Hello! I am trying with this question again: I would like to test few distributional assumptions for some behavioral response data. There are few theories about true distribution of those data, like: normal, lognormal, gamma, ex-Gaussian (exponential-Gaussian), Wald (inverse Gaussian) etc. The best way would be via qq-plot, to show to students differences. First two are trivial: qqnorm(dat$X)

Distributional characteristics
Hi all I've a continuous variable and I want to test (graphically, plotting observed and theoretical distr, qqplot) whether it follows some formal distribution. (some thing close to Ricci document : Fitting distributions with R, Feb05). The distribution I want to fit is a truncated Gamma at 1 (the minimal value is 1), P(x)=Pgamma(rate,x)/(1-Pgamma(rate,x<1)) NB : changing the variable

producing a QQ plot.
Hello everyone I'm a beginner in Stats and R, I'm using R 2.10.1. I need to create a multivariate qq plot, there is 8 variable group with each has 55 number of input. An example of what I did so far, just to get my point out: > data=read.csv(file.choose(),header=T) > data country village group av_expen P2ary_ed no_fisher 1 Cook Islands Aitutaki D

probability plot correlation coefficient
As a newbie to R, I'm still rather at a loss for finding information (the commands names can be rather arcane)so I'm just posting my question: I would like to estimate the shape coefficient of diverse distributions (Weibull, gamma and Tukey-Lambda specifically, but other could be of interest) - Does R have a PPCC utility to estimate such parameter?(maximum value of correlation coef)

how to create a 95 percent confidence interval using the diference of the mean using Bootstrap
Hello all, could you please tell me how to create a 95 percent confidence interval using R, if I have the next data: > blue [1] 4 69 87 35 39 79 31 79 65 95 68 62 70 80 84 79 66 75 59 77 36 86 39 85 74 [26] 72 69 85 85 72 > red [1] 62 80 82 83 0 81 28 69 48 90 63 77 0 55 83 85 54 72 58 68 88 83 78 30 58 [26] 45 78 64 87 65 Build a confidence interval of 95 % for the difference of the

Simple 95% confidence interval for a median
Hi! I have a data set of 86 values that are non-normally distributed (counts). The median value is 10. I want to get an estimate of the 95% confidence interval for this median value. I tried to use a one-sample Wiolcoxin test: wilcox.test(Comps,mu=10,conf.int=TRUE) and got the following output: Wilcoxon signed rank test with continuity correction data: Comps V = 2111, p-value = 0.05846

need 95% confidence interval bands on cubic extrapolation
Dear R experts: I need to get this plot, but also with 95% confidence interval bands: hour <- c(1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) millivolts <- c(3.5, 5, 7.5, 13, 40, 58) plot(hour, millivolts, xlim=c(1,10), ylim=c(0,1000)) pm <- lm(millivolts ~ poly(hour, 3)) curve(predict(pm, data.frame(hour=x)), add=TRUE) How can the 95% confidence interval band curves be plotted too? Sincerely,

P-P plot
Sorry for my silly questions. I'm a beginner with R and most statistics concepts. I carried out a simple linear regression where the dependent variable is explained through a combination of powers of cos(independent variable). I can see R returned a good R^2 factor (> 0.99) but I have a hard time at interpreting all the other info that R prints out by using summary( regression.results),

95% confidence interval of the coefficients from a bootstrap analysis
Hello, I am doing a simple linear regression analysis that includes few variables. I am using a bootstrap analysis to obtain the variation of my variables to replacement. I am trying to obtain the coefficients 95% confidence interval from the bootstrap procedure. Here is my script for the bootstrap: N = length (data_Pb[,1]) B = 10000 stor.r2 = rep(0,B) stor.r2 = rep(0,B) stor.inter =

thick plot lines
Dear People, In a qqplot I am doing, I get lines/points that are very thick. I've tried setting the lwd variable to 0.1, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Also, I have set the value of lty to dashed, but I still get dots. The command looks like qqplot(cdf.inv(seq(0,1,length=size),theta,pos,len),empmargdistvec(len,theta,pos,size), xlim=c(-theta,theta), ylim=c(-theta,theta),

making multiple lines using qqplot
Hi Everyone, I want to make 3 lines on the same graph (not as subplots, all in the same window, one on top of each other) and I want them to be quantile-quantile plots (qqplot). Essentially, I am looking for the equivalent of Matlab's "hold on" command to use with qqplot. I know I can use 'points' or 'lines', but these do not give me a qqplot (only appear to work

qqplot
Hi, We could use qqplot to see how two distributions are different from each other. To show better how they are different (departs from the straight line), how is it possible to plot the straight line that goes through them? I am looking for some thing like qqline for qqnorm. I thought of abline but how to determine the slope and intercept? Best wishes, Carol
