Chroot Install
Good Morning, I want to update my CF-Microdrive for my router with CentOS (currently there is Slacky on it). I have attached the microdrive to my notebook using a pcmcia CF adapter. Within my CentOS installation the drive is detected correctly as ide_cf and all partitions are shown. But as the installer does not ship the necessary modules for a pcmcia ide installation i am searching for a way to

revision numbers on translated articles
Good Evening. As the 'translation community' is growing I would like to suggest to add the 'revision number' of the original article on which the translation is based on, so someone else could easily diff to keep translations up to date. It would be great if translators add something like: 'translation based on #N' as footnote where N is the version of the original

iptables: forwarding on internal device
Good Evening, I am trying to forward packages on an internal device using iptables: /sbin/iptables -A FORWARD -i eth0 -o eth0 -m state --state NEW,RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT but the packages are still blocked, e.g.: Feb 6 20:58:28 firewall kernel: DROP-TCP IN=eth0 OUT=eth0 SRC=192.168.100.177 DST=172.28.2.184 LEN=40 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=127 ID=16609 PROTO=TCP SPT=7166 DPT=3590 WINDOW=0

AW: authentification problems
Hi Tom, meanwhile I'm using Samba 2.2.8a, and I don't have a real solution for the problem. I managed to reduce the occurance of the error by using "security = domain" and "password server = *". The problem occures only on about 6% of all clients (log level 1, max log size 300kB). So I decided to ignore these errors. If a user complains about that (PW query pops up,

iptables -d fqdn instead of IP
Hi all, does it work to define iptables rules with a fqdn as destination instead of an IP address? Or is it useful to resolve the name first using e.g. nslookup, writing the result to a variable which is then used within the -d statement? Best Regards Marcus

Pending OpenSSH release, call for testing.
Darren, We have systems which are multihomed for virtualisation, but run only one sshd. You can connect to any IP-address and should be authenticated with gssapi/kerberos. So the client will ask for a principal host/virt-ip-X and the server has to have an entry for this in the keytab and has to select the right key by determining the hostname from the connection IP-address. There is no other way

Inclusion of a countdown tool of remaining calculation time possible?
Dear All, We are currently working with very large datasets which even in R require a lot of calculation time. Is there an option of including a function/ tool or something alike which shows the remaining time of calculation? Just to see whether there is any progress or whether anything has crashed and to get a feeling whether we have to wait for 5 min or 30min... Any help is greatly

recode Variable in dependence of values of two other variables
Hi, as an R-beginner, I have a recoding problem and hope you can help me: I am working on a SPSS dataset, which I loaded into R (load("C:/...) I have 2 existing Variables: "ID" and "X" , and one variable to be computed: meanX.dependID (=mean of X for all rows in which ID has the same value) ID = subject ID. Since it is a longitudinal dataset, there are repeated

(was: "Re: Pending OpenSSH release, call for testing", topic drift at its finest :-) Markus Moeller wrote: > Douglas, > > OK three possible settings(hostname, connection IP,GSS_C_NO_NAME) are fine for me too. Does GSS_C_NO_NAME relate to this bug (addressless tickets)? http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=488 BTW, I opened a bug the the multihomed thing a couple of

Spacewalk Client Tools from Stahnma
Dear Patrice, I have noticed that you are referencing to the Stahnma repository for Spacewalk Client Tools. These are quite old and I would suggest to use the tools from: http://spacewalk.redhat.com/yum instead. Mr. Suchy already pushed some of the packages to Fedora/EPEL so they might be available there, soon. Besides that the Spacewalk Team is thinking about a split between client/server on

Test-driving RHEL Betas
Good Evening (Dag and Karan), I have noticed the slight changes on the Download Page which is now linking to the RHEL Betas and want to take the discussion to the ML instead of the Wiki. I would personally prefer to link to the RHEL Betas from a (not yet created) Test-driving RHEL SIG page instead of the CentOS download page. This should be meant to promote project related downloads (resources
