sync+Rnw+TeXShop, again
Hi All -- I'm not sure this is the natural place for this question, but this list is the place with the best Sweave-TeXShop-sync discussion so far. My problem is that sync+Sweave+TeXShop works sometimes and not others, and it's not consistent. The failure, in which sync from PDF opens the .tex file instead of the .Rnw file, always comes after a code chunk. If I start from a simple

Sweave - if \Sexpr{} than \SweaveInput{"my.Rnw"}
Depending on an R computation I would like to include an Sweave documents in the main Sweave document. How can I do it? So I was thinking .... to use Latex features : \newif\ifpaper \ifpaper \SweaveInput{"my1.Rnw"} \else \SweaveInput{"my2.Rnw"} \fi But how do I set paper to true or false given an \Sexpr ?? \papertrue % or \paperfalse Any ideas? cheers -- Witold

SweaveInput and absolute paths
Hi, Is there a way to turn off the automatic inclusion of "./" at the beginning of a path specified in an \SweaveInput{} instruction? I'd like to create some reusable "template modules" of Sweave code and put them in a standard directory like /Resources/Affymetrix Then the corresponding file that uses one of these would include a command like

SweaveInput + keep.source = TRUE trouble
Dear all, I have trouble with R-beta sweaving files that include definitions with \SweaveInput in combination with keep.source = TRUE Symptom: SInput is taken from too far down the input file (the shift is the number of lines of the included file). Is that known? Searching didn't turn up anything, yet I think there are more people than just me using keep.source. Example: $

Sweave and Textwrangler
Hi, I am trying to get TextWrangler to work with LaTeX and Sweave. Ideally I would call a script from TextWrangler that would run Sweave on a document, then LaTeX (using SyncTeX), and finally open the corresponding pdf in Skim. Of course I don't always need to run Sweave and would be looking for the option of LaTeX -> Open. I found this http://www.xs4all.nl/~msneep/latex/ but it

Sweave absolute path versus relative path
Sorry, I should have really started a new thread with this because really it is a new question only loosely related to the first Q. Thanks for the assist. As suggested I switched over to sweave. I have a lot of .tex tables that I > have already created that I was previously inserting into my tex document > (using \input). The journal I plan on submitting to eventually wants the >

Using Sweave to generate multiple documents
Hello, I tried looking for a Sweave-specific list but didn't find one, nor did I find an answer via google, so will send this question to the general R list. Please feel free to point me in the right direction. I am using Sweave and would like to have a single .Rnw document that generates 1) a summary report, 2) a full report, 3) slides for a talk. I think my material lends itself to have

Sweave and \input or \include LaTeX commands
Hello! I was just wondering if Sweave can work with \input or \include LaTeX commands. So, is it aware of such a possible hierarchy in documents. I would test that, but I don't have such a report available at the moment. I thought of that when I was writting shell script for Sweave from command line and I have solved that part there. -- Lep pozdrav / With regards, Gregor GORJANC

Sweave Makefile issue
Dear R-specialists, I am trying to create a Makefile that will first convert all my .Rnw files into .tex files and then, that will run the LaTeX compiler to produce a pdf document. This issue has been discussed before. Hence, I've basically adapted a Makefile I found at http://n4.nabble.com/R-Sweave-R-and-complex-latex-projects-td810020.html#a810023 to make it compatible with a Windows

Bug report 14459 -- procedure for handling follow-up issues
Although the specific behaviour that was reported has been fixed, bugs remain in Sweave's processing of comment lines when keep.source=TRUE This is in some senses a follow-up from earlier bugs. Hence the query -- what is the preferred procedure, to submit a new bug report? (Another option might be to add a comment to the web page for bug 14459.) Is there now a preference to submit via

Text editors for Sweave (rnw) files
Hi fellow R-users, Are there any text editors that recognize sweave (.rnw) files? I am running Windows Vista and in the past I used Tinn-R for R files but it (surprisingly) doesn't recognize rnw files and does not do any syntax highlighting for them. Thanks in advance, Greg __________________________________________________________________ Make your browsing faster, safer, and

Sweave, R and complex latex projects
Hello all, I've been able to use R very successfully to run simple statistics and generate the plots I require. I've been evaluating Sweave, and have hit upon a small problem that I don't seem to be able to workaround. Sweave runs very well for single file latex documents, but I have a complex thesis made up of several parts and chapters. These are arranged with a master latex file

Sweave: Avoiding recompilation of figures
Hello everybody out there using Sweave, There are some complicated SQL queries and laborous calculations against large data included as R code chunks using Sweave in my LaTeX document. These code chunks create graphs that do not change most of the time, but they are of course recompiled every time I run Sweave on my file for update of minor changes to the LaTeX text. Is there an option

Rnw file generated strange symbols in pdf file
Hello, I found my Rnw file generated strange symbols in pdf file. For instance, on page 4 of the following file, http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/cts/vignettes/kf.pdf you can see Belcher et~al on line 2, and Figure~1 on line 5. The symbol ~ should not appear in the pdf file although the symbol was in the original Rnw file (something like Figure~\ref{...}, section~\ref{...}). On page 1,

Sweave : change value in rnw file to generate multiple "single" reports ?
Hello, I'm still trying to make the life of my colleagues easier. Nice, isn't it ? At the moment, I'm looking for a way to generate multiple "single report". In fact I have a .rnw file which send a query to a MySQL database (rs<-dbSendQuery(con, statement="select * from treatdata where name='Device1'") But of course my colleagues have many devices and

including Sweave tangled code in '.Rnw' document
Hello List, I have been using Sweave for my homework this last quarter and have been very impressed at how much time and effort it saves me. I, however, have run up against a problem which I have not been able to solve using any of the Sweave/LaTeX tricks I know. I work through my homework one problem at a time, typesetting equations and writing R code, etc. and occasionally use

Problem compiling Rnw file
Dear R list, I'm using R 2.15.2 with TeX Live 2009 and ESS 12.09 . I have a R project in the '/home/r/Documents/myproj/', which is my working directory (where I have the .Rnw file). Inside the document I have several "setwd()" to collect the datasets I use. After I compile from the terminal using "R CMD Sweave myproj.Rnw", I receive the error: Error in

Fwd: Converting R to Sweave (Rnw)
Hi I am thinking about using Sweave more frequently, especially for documenting code. But the syntax is slightly awkward for me (<<name>>= ... @), and I was thinking if there would be a way of importing the type of code extracted from an Rnw file back into an Rnw file? The advantage would be that the code could run in R without tangling. Obviously, sweave options could not be
