JOB - PhD position: applying HPC in cancer research
Dear all, we have an exciting PhD position applying HPC to the analysis of large scale cancer datasets.
The post will suit an applicant from a strong computational background who wishes to apply their knowledge to help develop a better understanding of the processes that control how tumours develop.
Details below:-

analysis and figure for sign test in setting of high inter-experiment variance
Hello all,
Sorry if this is an FAQ. I have been trying to search the archives
without success.
I have a dataset (ChiPs microarray) where the experiment to experiment
variability is very high
but where within an experiment, the data nearly always goes in the
"right" (hypothesis confirming) direction.
I am trying to figure out the right way to use R to do the statistical

Using Effect.Move() while maintaining the elements DOM order
Hi there,
is it possible to maintain the elements order in DOM when using
Effect.Move()? Currently the Move effect will
change the element position (using top and left style attrs), this
works quite well too, but what I''d like is
to change the elements position as well.
Consider the following example:

qplot: plotting precipitation data
Dear list,
I wish to plot chromatin precipitation data: I would like to have a
rectangles (x:end-start, y:peak) but I do not have an idea how to define x
(in terms of qplot syntax) and to choose the correct geom.
mydata is a subset of a larger file.

File and console output does not work in C code
Hello all,
I am getting into trouble when trying to do standard I/O from a C
function called within R environment.
This function is written in a small C library that is loaded whith
dyn.load() and called in R via the .C() interface. I need to debug the C
code using a text file for some logs, and also to speed up its result
visualization by creating images on the fly using the GD library.

ANOVA-Formula
Hi,
I have taken one microarray experiment and trying to implement same
statistical measures what they have done.I have taken datasets from GEO
platform with accession number GSE1557. In the experiment, about half of
double transgenic rats (dTGR) over-expressing the human renin and
angiotensinogen genes die by age 7 weeks of terminal heart failure (THF);
the other
(preterminal) half develops

Hi,
I have been fighting this issue without success for several days. I am

Error when prototype.js is loaded
I have some javascript on my page which contains an array for a menu.
Without protoype.js loaded, I don''t receive any js errors. However,
once I load prototype.js, my code for my menu shows an error. This
area was coded prior to implementing prototype.js, so it is not
dependent on prototype, but other site functions will be.
Here is the error that I get:
invalid quantifier +);}); }
