Transcoding ogg with curl, oggdec, ices2: problem after fallback due to oggdec
Hello,

transcoder curl | oggdec | ices2 is transcoding to lower bitrates ogg

Introducing ov_open_callbacksp and ov_clearp
Hello,
I've been looking to the libvorbisfile and got into troubles when trying to
use it: I need to compile it on a PalmOS and the libvorbisfile must be
compiled in ARM whereas calling code is in 68K. This implies that the
interface ov_open_callback is not usable because the OggVorbis_File *vf must
point to something in the target architecture (ARM) whereas the caller
cannot do that.

Access Violation when calling ov_clear
I get an access violation when calling ov_clear(). I know ov_open() worked because I used ov_info to get the sampling rate and number of channels in the .ogg file. I also know the FILE pointer and the OggVorbis_File structure are still in scope (they're member variables of the same class my deconstructor is in (where ov_clear() is called)). Anyone have any ideas? I opened the file using

Oggenc/oggdec on Mac OS X
Hi,
Has anyone succeeded to build oggenc and oggdec on
Mac OS X with static linking? I can build libogg
and libvorbis and install them as dynamic libraries
(by running ./configure, make and then make install).
Then oggenc and oggdec will load them in runtime
and use them. That works fine.
But I'd like to build these two command line tools
so they're linked with all the libraries they

really? That would be a bug unless it rewrites the stream id instead.

VorbisFile library crashs.
Hello!
There is a problem with the VorbisFile library. It only works when I open an
OGG file for
the 1st time. After I closed the file and try to open another one or the
same it crashs. It seems it applies to the use of either ov_open or ov_test
functions or their combination.
I wrote a test app that illustrates the bug. It crashs with a message
"Unmapped memory exception". It's

Outdated oggdec tarball
Hello,
While trying to debug a problem with the open-source slimp3 server,
which uses oggdec, I found that the tarball for vorbis-tools 1.0
contains an old version of oggdec, containing at least one bug in the
command line handling code (a missing break statement). The latest code
in CVS appears to be fixed.
Are you planning to release a new tarball for vorbis-tools?

Hmm. Doesn't oggdec output the decompressed audio to stdout? IIRC the
help goes to stderr to avoid clobbering that.
If 'corretness' is the windows issue, could it be compile-time switched?

ov_clear(&vorbis) segfaults?
Hello all. I'm new to this list. I'm also new to coding with libvorbis
and things, so please bear with me. :)
I've been having trouble with libvorbisfile.
My use of it is fairly simple, but when I try to ov_clear the vorbis
file, it segfaults.
I can attach or otherwise make availible some demo source code, but for
now I'll just pull out relevant lines:

oggdec.exe not using album gain stdout option
This question is mainly directed at John Edwards, I believe. I'm attempting
to use oggdec.exe in a batch conversion of ogg vorbis files for use on a
portable player. I'm using the -o option to redirect output to the LAME
encoder. So far so good.
However, I also want to do volume leveling using the replaygain tags. If I
specify track (radio) gain, everything works fine, however, when I

fallback source give up and returns to original source
I forgot to mention that the patched version seams to work fine, except that one of the listener (curl |Â oggdec | ices)
don't like the source content change. I have to search for that.

Decoding only a certain frame results in different values than when decoding the entire file
To make it complete, here is the code that I am using to encode a large
file:
int __stdcall SpxEncode(unsigned char* inBuf, unsigned char* outBuf,
unsigned int inlen)
{
//char *testFile;
//FILE *ftest;
//testFile = "test";
//ftest = fopen(testFile, "wb");
//fwrite(inBuf,1,inlen,ftest);
//take every 320 bytes
//copy every short to float

Vorbisgain in ogg123
I'm considering patching my copy of ogg123 to support vorbisgain tags. Is
there any interest in folding this sort of patch into the main line ogg123?
Has anyone done this already (or to another command line ogg player)?

oggdec and ogg123 playing audio from an Ogg Theora+Vorbis file?
Are oggdec and ogg123 supposed to be able to extract or play audio from an Ogg
Theora+Vorbis file?
OggDec 1.0 and ogg123 from vorbis-tools 1.0.1 don't seem to be able to do so.
If the programs are not supposed to do this job now, are any improvements
planned so they can do this job in the future?
Thanks for info on this.

ices produces ogg-files with two logical bitstreams
Hi everybody!
I encountered a strange problem with ices-2.0.0.
I use a icecast2/ices2 combo ti stream live audio and I use ices to record my stream. This worked well until last week. Since then the recording function produces somehow corrupt ogg-files.
I cannot decode them to wav with oggdec, the program tells me "Only one logical bitstream currently supported".

oggdec in cvs?
I downloaded a nightly CVS tarball about a week ago. It contains an oggdec
tool in vorbis-tools. However, I don't get this tool when I checkout / update
from CVS. What's the deal - is it in CVS or isn't it?! :)
