lacing values clarifications
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I thought I would separate this out into a separate mail since it's not comment specific stuff -- There seem to be a couple of inconcistanies in the Ogg spec as regards to lacing values: *) "The raw packet is logicaly divided into [n] 255 byte segments and a last fractional segment of < 255 bytes." However, in the wild, I've

Ogg spec
Hi, I'm currently trying to implement the Ogg specification in pure Java from scratch. (I know, something like that does exist, but that's a rewrite from C, at least that's my impression). I'm a bit confused with the number of lacing values/segments in a page, and the maximum length a page can have. The specification says, that there can be 255 segments in a page, 255 bytes each

What tags are allowed in ogg files?
Hi, I'm writing a tag-editor for ogg files. What tags, besides ogg-tags, are allowed in ogg files (if any). I'm thinking of id3v1, id3v2, ape tags and so on. I have a (probably small) problem with writing a new "comment header". I have tried opening a file with a valid header, and then simply moved some of the comment tags position, so that the total size and the count still

Ruby app to rails?
Hi. Im am considering porting an c++ application to Ruby, and me company would also like to have an web-version of this particular application. If say there is an XML validator in the app. Then can Ruby and RoR share this in an easy way, so i wouldnt have to maintain 2 branches of the same XML validator. Best Regards. VoicePulse SIP
Dear Sirs, Anybody ever tried running SIP up against Voicepulse? On their http://connect.voicepulse.com they claim they support both SIP and IAX, but I can't seem to get SIP running. I have as mentioned before on this list - huge problems getting any timing devices running on some of my machines, so IAX is not really an option right now. If I try I get a "Service Unavailable"

Samba 3 + Exchange 5.5
Hi Everybody, I've been asked to upgrade an old NT4 server with a new server running Debian/Samba. I've got no problem with migrating the old server, but I do have one "unknown". The company mail run on an Exchange server that is most likely part of the NT4 network. Has anybody tried this setup? I did look in documentation and google and found precious little - which to me

OggPCM (uncompressed Ogg audio)
Hi Arc, illi, I think it would be advantageous if we take the emotion out of this discussion , so let's just argue technically. My experience with xiph is that we are a very friendly community and trying to help each other and listen, so let's keep that culture up. I think we all agree: it is a good idea to have an media mapping for ogg for uncompressed PCM. As for what is required in a

Shorewall 4.4.27 Beta 1
Beta 1 is now available for testing. One of the problems I''ve had with the Shorewall products is trying to keep them all in sync. There have been two copies of each shell library and four CLI programs. To simplify maintenance, I have collapsed each of the library pairs into a single library and have reduced the number of CLI programs from four to two (one for the

Intermittent long (~20-second) delays getting to files in a share
Hi, I'm a newbie to the list, so bear with my ignorance. I have installed 3.0.14a on FC3, and am using it on a network of 5 XP boxes. The symptoms are as follows: When I initially start using the server, there is a significant delay (~ 20 seconds) to accessing the share (home directory or a regular file share). After that I can open files with no problems (near-instant response) for about 2

Ogg Format
Hello Tim I am referring to the following file https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Sample_of_%22Another_Day_in_Paradise%22.ogg I opened the file in a HEX editor. I do not see the string OpusHead in the packet. It starts with Oggs. Also checking the occurrence of Oggs, I see that the first packet has BOS, the next all (except last) have 00 (which is not defined in the RFC as continuation) and

samba and msaccess help please
Hopefully this is a samba question, and not a Microsoft Access question... I have a multiuser access database on a samba share... it worked fine with multiple users being able to connect to it at the same time no probs. I just upgraded the linux box to red hat 6, copied across the same smb.conf from before and now users are getting a error "Too many active users" when more than one

Ogg Format
Hello All, When going through the Ogg format, I have a basic question. As per the RFC the Ogg format encapsulates the logical stream. Now consider the scenario where a raw mono stream is being encoded with Opus Codec. The stream is 48KHz and the length of the stream being encoded is worth 20ms of data. This makes it 960 half words (considering 16 bit format). Now if the final output is say 100

Resolving computername from ip
Hi, Is there, on a intranet, any way to resolve the computername from its ip ? I have a setup where I know which users are on which ip, and I wan't to notify some events to some users with a "smbclient -M". But since I don't know the computername, I don't know any way to send the popups... thanks /torben t

Patch for the bestfortress driver 0.02
I could not make the bestfortress driver 0.02 work for my Best Fortress LI675VA, so I have made a patch for the driver. The reason was, that all responses are preceded and terminated by CR LF, but the driver would discard everything after the first CR LF. The following patch discards everything up to the first LF. It also adds a debugging feature of displaying the accepted data (level 5 i.e. -D

Eicon Diva Server 4BRI
Hi Everybody, Has anybody tried the above (or indeed any other 4XBRI cards) successfully with Asterisk. As far as I can see the above mentioned card is an active ISDN card but supported by it's own I4L driver. This leads to interesting questions particularly regarding echo cancellations (which usually doesn't work on the cheap passive cards with one exception as far as I can see).
